Try calling, and see what happens. If they refuse to give you any information, ask where you need to call or go, so that you can have answers.
Is this person a family member.
I would think that as long as you know their name, etc, you should be given info.

Call the center, give your name and relationship status, give them that person's name, DOB, you know, all the information on that person and they should be able to up date you on the status including the date of deport. This is only My opinion and what I would do. You can always call your local police dept. and ask them what is the protocol I guess? hope this helps.

From personal experience my husband was deported in April of 2006, I called to where he was to find out about his status and was told such information could not be disclosed,I was not even allowed to speak to him.For 2 month's I new nothing about him or where he was till he called me when he arived at his country. So basically what I am trying to say is no matter who you are or your relationship to the person you will not get the information you want. GOOD LUCK!

I can only answer for UK. If you know where they are being held, you can phone them, but if you don't know, it's up to them to contact you. As a general rule, the Immigration Service refuse to release details about a person on grounds of confidentiality, although that's the last thing likely to worry someone about to be deported. They will only speak to a previously authorised legal representative (solicitor).
Good luck
