I think that Illegal aliens are the hardest working people in America. Illegals are NOT just from Mexico, first of all. Second is that they do all the **** jobs that no one else wants to do. I think that if they do get citizenship it will certainly improve the american economics as well as bring down the crime rate. As far as the borders opening, no, I don't think that would happen because it is still a question of national security, and no we will not lose control of our borders...of which there are two!

People vote in their own economic self-interest...let's make you an illegal alien, for sake of argument, and explore the question.
Ok, you're from Guatemala, and you hopped the fence, illegal as they come, and your family's dirt-poor, and in Guatemala.
Ok, Bush waves the magic wand, declares blanket amnesty.
After the party's over, and everyone sobers up, and you decide to try to utilize your newfound voting rights, will you be more concerned with the welfare of your family, which still reside in Guatemala, or in some water dispute in the state you're living in?
Chances are, you're going to be trying to work some angle to benefit your family, either by bringing them to the United States(the most likely outcome), or by supporting changes that'll result in more money going to Guatemala from the United States. You just became the pro-Guatemala vote, a guatemalan with guatemalan interests, living as an american citizen in the United States. You didn't become an american so much as you became a permanent working resident with full voting rights whose interests are in some other country. It gets messy.
The whole immigration debate revolves mainly around the United States, with the common reason being that there's money to be gained, either legally or illegally, by going to our country.
Basically, in the eyes of corporations, citizenship is for sale, 21st century and all, mustn't get in the way of business or anything...
and, so here we are, company X has hired you, done the whole trip, and now you're an american citizen. But, your heart's still in Guatemala...

Well-- first off, they should never be allowed to become citizens. Legal residents maybe. so, no, they don't get to vote.
Second, they don't get to vote on open borders. The Fed folks would decide that and wouldn't do so anyway.

Well, why doesn't america just make more jobs, more companies, and more houses so that america could get more people in its lands. That would be a great benefit to our economy. And i doubt that america would have an election that if we have our borders open or not.
