Illegal immigrant's message to other wannabe workers: Stay put."Better not to come," Martinez said of anyone thinking about crossing into the U.S. illegally. "The situation is really bad."

That message seems to be getting through. There are numerous signs of a slowdown in illegal immigration.• A recent survey by Mexican authorities shows that fewer Mexicans say they are planning to seek work outside the country. In the third quarter of 2007, about 47,000 said they'd be packing their bags. That's down nearly one-third from the same quarter a year earlier. U.S. border authorities arrested just under 877,000 illegal crossers in fiscal 2007, which ended in September, down 20 percent compared to the year before. A drop in apprehensions is often interpreted as a sign that fewer migrants are attempting the trip.

I just bought a holiday ornament from Hallmark this morning. An hour ago I opened it up to take a look and something was wrong. It had no plastic over the ornament which all Hallmark have, and the batteries were inside of it. The compartment holding the batteries in won't stay on and the ornament itself does not work. It's suppose to light up and play music. I bought it on sale of 40% off and I went back just now to exchange or get a refund and was told all sales are final. The owner opened the ornament and said "oh, this was or demo model that was out for ppl to see and play, but your still not getting your money back." After arguing for a few minutes she called the police on me. I waited for the police and he said there wasn't a law he knew of to help and said I should go. All I wanted was preferably a new ornament or my refund. Does this sound legal? Anyone ever have a similar issue? Any suggestions on what I should, could do? I live in Michigan if anyone knows anything.

Thanks.

I have had a bank account since I was little and it is a shared account with my dad. After a rough semester in college, my dad is emptying my account to pay for room and board. We had an informal, verbal agreement that this would happen if I had bad grades, but since nothing was written or signed, is this legal?

Well, I want to be a lawyer after high school.

My questions are:

-Specifically, what do lawyers do? Do they sit at home all day researching their case prior to the trial?
-How many years do I have to study on AVERAGE?
-Is it a hard job?

Have you thought about this?

What is wrong with people these days suing for 60 million cause your wife died? Or sue McDonalds cause you spilled your coffee you thought might be cold?

Is it to the point where money is all that matters to these people?

I mean 60 million 20 million or 5 dollars the person is still dead.

I understand some suits like if my wife died due to some company knowingly being neglegent and they refused to pay for the funeral I'd sue but only for the funeral costs and attorney fees . Or sueing for hospital fees but why millions of dollars?

My son is 16 years old and wants me to enroll him in a course for a Learner's Permit only. According to the DMV website the law states that a person needs to complete 7 hours of "road experience" Can a drivers school just charge for the 7 hours seperately? I always thought that any drivers ed class includes the learners permit as well. We are in the state of California.

Mitt Romney has been accused of flip-flopping by every one of his opponents, including McCain, and he has owned up to it every time.

But what of McCain's flip-flopping? When Romney points out that McCain used to be for allowing illegal immigrants to remain in this country and against the Bush tax cuts, but has changed position on each in the last month or so, what did McCain have to say about it? That Romney's claims were "flailing and false attacks".

So, what part of Romney's statements were false; that McCain voted for a bill to allow illegals to remain; that he opposed the Bush tax cuts; or that he's changed his position?

And don't give me a "Romney's an idiot" answer. How is McCain not a flip-flopper on these issues?

Why is it that its always people who have nothing to do with the military saying bring the troops home? Most troops cant stand people protesting for us to come home we wanna do our job. If we are unhappy we will complain we dont need you to do it for us. We joined the military knowing what the consequences of war are. Please stop complaining and just enjoy the freedom you have.

I would give him a 10! I think he is so hot and would make a good President! I don't think any of the other candidates are a 10. John Edwards is close but not a 10. And Hillary Clinton looks like my bus driver. If the Jonas Brothers were running I would give them a 10 too, but they are not running.
