Will it make any difference...no.After ratification of the EU Constitution, (unless by some miracle it gets shot down!) it will make no difference which party is in number 10,they will be caretakers implementing EU law.Gordon Brown has allowed us to be eaten by Eurozilla... Sadly we have lost the ability to govern ourselves...

Funny thing is people were asking the same question just before labour got in only the other way round.
But in answer to question, yes it could be a lot worse, believe it or not Britain has enjoyed a good run of economic prosperity over the last ten years, so all you whingers out there who don't have a clue about hard times and don't remember the industrial recession of the early nineteen eighties and the recession of the late eighties, sky high interest rates, home owners in negative equity and record repossession's, you could quite easily be going from the frying pan into the fire.
I am not saying that the Conservatives are no good as they were responsible under Margaret Thatcher and can be given credit for getting Britain out of state controlled stagnation and giving the public greater choice by introducing privatisation on utilities, John Major was behind the Northern Ireland peace initiative and passed on a strong economy to Labour.
But don't think that David Cameron just because he leader of the Conservatives is going to be far better than Gordan Brown, this Conservative party is not the one of the nineteen eighties and to me he lacks strength and has taken a long time to show why anyone should think he is good enough to be Prime minister.
So be careful what you wish for, I think that if Britain was ever to hit an economic recession again, then people like you who think that things are bad now are in for a real nasty shock!!!

As noted before, the Tories gave us the highest rates of unemployment in modern day history, almost ruined the NHS (I should know, I work in it), schools that were literally falling to bits, high interest rates (i.e. double figures), frequent recessions and so much more.
So yes, I do think that they would be worse.
One reason that they would be worse is with the NHS. One of Labours many failings is trying to get the private sector involved in patient care. It is great for the private sector, but less good for patients, and even worse for the NHS. The Tories want to increase private sector involvement, and they are showing incompetence by not learning from the mistakes Labour are making now.

I think they'd end up pretty much the same. probably quite quickly.
The one policy I think would cause great social disruption would be the one on cutting benefits for the long term unemployed - a lot of whom are social misfits who frankly lack most life skills and employers wouldn't touch.
I've worked with some on the New Deal scheme.
Its un-necessarily harsh.

the same - and i don't live in Britain -the NWO controls it top to bottom - The Conservative leader even uses the same language. most so -called democracies are now one-party dictatorships just like the old USSR. Switzerland seems a notable exception as would the US if Gravel ever got in.

The main appeal now to the floating voter, is that the conservatives do not have such an indulgent attitude to people who one way or another are a burden on society.

Labour have been an awful Government - I'd prefer the Conservatives any day - I don't understand why people elected Labour at all - they have been an unmitigated disaster for the country.
