Mitt Romney has been accused of flip-flopping by every one of his opponents, including McCain, and he has owned up to it every time.

But what of McCain's flip-flopping? When Romney points out that McCain used to be for allowing illegal immigrants to remain in this country and against the Bush tax cuts, but has changed position on each in the last month or so, what did McCain have to say about it? That Romney's claims were "flailing and false attacks".

So, what part of Romney's statements were false; that McCain voted for a bill to allow illegals to remain; that he opposed the Bush tax cuts; or that he's changed his position?

And don't give me a "Romney's an idiot" answer. How is McCain not a flip-flopper on these issues?

McCain's answer is generally along the lines of, "I was tortured as a POW, and therefore challenging me is out of line." The media, which has a crush on McCain compared to which Juliet was mildly interested in Romeo, usually finds this sufficient.

Yes, McCain has flipped on the Bush tax cots, although that flip was a few years back, not so recent. I can't see that he actually has flipped on immigration. His current web page on the issue doesn't say anything about a path to citizenship for illegals, but only talks about strengthening border security. That was in the bill that McCain supported, so it isn't really a flip. He's more quiet about his unpopular position, but I don't know of any evidence he's actually switched.

McCain is always 6 months behind. Ask him a question and it will take 6 months to be beat over the head by voters before he'll come out with the right answer.

well i don't know the exact details, but from Romney's quote, he is misrepresenting John McCain's views on immigration, which I was not aware that he recently changed his viewpoint on...but these type of things are what make me like him unlike politicians like hillary and romney, that he isn't constantly attacking people, also romney has had some major changes such as his views on gays and abortion

"Among Republicans, Romney's $5.2 million spent on ads dwarfs all others, raising his prospects but also the stakes if he should lose to an underfunded Huckabee." the article u posted also shows what I dislike about Romney

Every politician claims to have an answer. Most of them seem to flip-flop, so it becomes a case of picking the one who does it the least.

I don't trust McCain on immigration issues because of his original stand - yes he is a flipflopper as is Romney.
