You realize you have to have a college degree to become an officer before you qualify to attend pilot training?
The Marines also have fighter planes, but you must know how to spell.

First off, realize that you are mainly dealing with people on here that are not your friends. If you're thinking about serving our country, we want to know that you have some sort of education and are actually capable of making a coherent and legible sentence as a form of articulation of coherent thought.
Secondly, why don't you talk to both services first and see what it takes to become a fighter pilot, or as the Navy calls them aviators. The difference between a pilot and an aviator is that aviators land on a pitching, tossing, floating speck in the middle of the ocean during all types of weather, under all types of condition and if you miss, you might not only kill yourself and other crew members flying with you, but the maintenance personnel and techs that are required to make your aircraft fly. The Navy has several avenues for people after they pass basic flight training, which requires a lot of math and science ability to pass. The routes are broken down into different plane types, like jets, props, helos, that kind of stuff. Jets can include the F/A-18, the F-22 (Navy version), and sometimes might include the EA-6B and S-3. The next section, props, includes the E-2C, C-2 and P-3C. Other planes the Navy flies include the C-130 and C-9. Carrier aircraft include the F/A-18, F-22, EA-6B, S-3, E-2C, C-2 (doesn't stay, just makes pick ups and deliveries) and helos.
No one can make the choice for you, but know this: during Vietnam, a study of the stress put on Naval Aviators was done. Everything was study: bombing runs, day cats (launches), day traps (landings), dogfights, night cats, being under fire from AAA and night traps. This was done during all kinds of weather conditions as well. The biggest shock the people conducting the studies received was when they found out that nothing causes a Naval Aviator more stress than a night carrier landing during bad weather. This includes being fired upon, bombing runs and other things that they encounter daily. Even regular night carrier landings had particularly high stress level readings. So, if you don't handle stress or pressure well, I'd go Air Force. Something else you might want to do is read a few books about both services. There is a really good series of books titled Carrier, by Keith Douglass that talks about members of the Carrier Battle Group (CBG) Fourteen. Between those, Road to Gold and Sweetwater, Gunslinger 201, I think you'll get a good idea of what the Navy program is like.

your language skills lead me to believe that you cannot get the required 4 year degree in a hard science major to even remotely be considered for a commission in any Branch, let alone being selected for Aviation.

I think you really want to stay right here on your keyboard, don'tcha?

If you don't want to go blue...no matter whether it's sky or sea blue....then you are left with the Marine Corps and digicams. They are going to love getting their hands on a smart guy like you.

Oh yeah.....thanks for the 2 points.

Yes you should first look into going into the Naval or Air Force Academy. Not saying you will not qualify, but it is extremely difficult. Good Luck.

This is just a BS question posted as a joke. Nobody is actually this dumb. Its probably the same dumba$$ that always posts about draft dodging and rooting for Iran. He's probably trying to make a statement about servicemembers' intelligence.

Thanks for the 2 points, dikhead.
