I'm an agnostic, and find it somewhat offensive that I have to salute chaplin officers, whatever happened to seperation between church and state... and freedom of religion. Why is our government paying a church?

I know the salute is all about respecting the rank and not the person but the person really doesn't do anything but religion... they don't even fight.... Does anyone else agree... I know its nothing big to ***** about but com'on.

There once was a thing called "Congressional oversight" what happened to it.?

Why does everyone always act so surprised when the intelligence services do things to make it harder to investigate them or provide (necessary) government oversight over their activities? The destruction of the CIA interrogation tapes that involve "waterboarding" is a perfect example.
Doesn't anyone remember the history of these agencies? They get out of line every decade or so and only congressional investigations act to provide any outside restraint. Remember the Church and Pike committee hearings in the 1970's? The Iran-Contra hearings in the 1980's? It is a pity our congress is so pathetic these days, because they would never take the political flak that such hearings would generate today for them. Which means that the word "oversight" has lost any meaning.

can her parents do this?

put a restraining order on me for dating their daughter, (were both minors) i did some research online and it doesn't look like they can because i was never abusive or threatening in any manner and we never had sex. Also I heard she could have me thrown in jail but that doesn't sound very realistic if i never did anything they just don't want us to date

How many of our Sikh brothers still believe and support this cause ?

I have always respected the Sikhs and my understanding is that they are part of Hindus who were dedicated to protect the unarmed Hindu farmers against attacks from outside.

Hence I was surprised to see this website, extremely surprised. I agree there is corruption in India and all honest Indians are fighting corruption the politics of divide and rule, castism and all related evils. We are all in it. And how come our brothers who were supposed to protect us are asking for separation ?

Isnt this an irony the same warriors who took an oath to protect Hindus and unarmed innocent people against evil attackers are wanting to desert them ?

Shouldnt we be united to fight this evil of corruption and wrong governance, religious division ?

Is there a political party in the United States that is socially conservative, and fiscally liberal?

I know the Libertarians claim to be fiscally conservative, and socially liberal, but is there a party thats opposite meaning they support higher taxes and government spending, but dont support abortion, gay marriage, etc. I was just going through my voters pamphlet on the primaries, reading about the different political parties, but could not find one that matches the description. This question is not a reflection on my political views at all, I was just wondering. Thanks.

Why dont the people affected by piracy hack into the illegal websites?

I have always wondered why big companies like Warner Bros and Universal dont just hire a hacker to destroy these websites? Is it illegal to hack a website hosting illegal materials? Or is it too difficult to do?
