My wife has locked me in the office for the last 18 hours so that she can entertain her boyfriend. Am I within my rights to break down the door?

no one can lock you in a room against your will. You have the right to kick the door down regardless. if you waited 18 hours she has probably made the right decision to meet another man.
if you were contemplating "your rights" to knock down the door instead of why she was with another man then im afraid there is no hope for you.

you are withing your rights, yes. If it is your house!

Well, i'm a law student and there was this case where some man locked up this other man in his shop and the manwho was locked up jumped out of the window, and suffered some injuries - the shopkeeper was liable for his injuries got about 2 years!

So depending how much you hate your wife, i'd say jump out of the window and get her arrested haha

She is guilty of kidnapping (a felony). Do what you have to and get out or call the cops. Never mind the situation on the other side of the door. File for divorce and take EVERYTHING.

Kidnapping is against the Law, call the Police. If the Door is yours, you are welcome to do anything with it that you want, but better to let the Police handle it. Dont make it worse by reacting to the situation.

This is a really bizarre situation, I wish you a lot of luck.

So I take it you have had a good Christmas then? I think you are making this up no man would sit quietly in a room while his wife was having it off with someone else.

Hi,

yes! her actions amount to false imprisonment and you may take reasonable measures to extricate yourself from this plight. It is also possible for you to press charges with the poplice and ruin your wife's fun by having her banged up!!!!

Now who's locking up who???

Be a man!! Apply for divorce. It is time to end.

Actually, the purpose of marriage is to get divorce so that each of the couple can be liberated, just like a prisoner released from jail..
