Congress needs to pass a law specifically requiring that the VP's records go to the Archives along with the President's records. Congress might have trouble getting the necessary votes, but they should try very hard. After all, it is the duty of Congress to check the excesses of the other two branches.

It is a laughable that Cheney can maintain he is not part of the Executive Branch. Besides that, he RARELY appears in the Senate. The fact that Politico reports Cheney's arguments without criticism tells me all I need to know about Politico.

This is more than just evasion or lying on Cheney's part. He believes that no rules apply to the executive office, he thinks that he is accountable to no one. Someone tries to enforce the law, and not only does he try to have them fired, he tries to abolish their department. This is arrogant autocratic usurping of power.

A few months ago, Frontline had a great show "Cheney: The Dark Side"

Would it not be great, that "ALL" involved in the Government be honest and truthful with "we the people". It sure would help at
election time.

Here is the deal.as soon as the Clintons release the communications between them that they have sealed in the Archives...casting any aspersion on Cheney only demonstrates early symptoms of Cheney derangement syndrome.

Evasion is not lying, it's simply not answering; A common occurrence in politics on both sides. It is Newsweek though.
PLUS: Cheney is the safety factor why Liberals can't impeach GWB...careful what you wish for. Koalatcomic's answer shows the media bias perfectly.

Yes, you are right and it is simply amazing how Bush and his cabinet accomplish this feat of lying while not moving their lips.

Amazing....

Tell us ; How does one lie through evasion ?

2007-12-25 22:41:05 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 3 4

With this logic then you have proved that the Clinton's are both liars. They refuse to let us see their past records, that have nothing to do with executive privilage.
