Illegal immigrant's message to other wannabe workers: Stay put."Better not to come," Martinez said of anyone thinking about crossing into the U.S. illegally. "The situation is really bad."

That message seems to be getting through. There are numerous signs of a slowdown in illegal immigration.• A recent survey by Mexican authorities shows that fewer Mexicans say they are planning to seek work outside the country. In the third quarter of 2007, about 47,000 said they'd be packing their bags. That's down nearly one-third from the same quarter a year earlier. U.S. border authorities arrested just under 877,000 illegal crossers in fiscal 2007, which ended in September, down 20 percent compared to the year before. A drop in apprehensions is often interpreted as a sign that fewer migrants are attempting the trip.

Eh. A) now that phil gordon is flip flopping all the media outlets have gone from sympathetic to attacking B) they will print/report anything to calm down the growing anger as they can tell its reaching riot proportions. C) Ill believe that when they leave Pruitt's alone, however we have finally begun outnumbering them thanks to Arpaio's appearance last week. D) the problem is that since they are illegal, the numbers could be waaaaay off in either direction. Remember in the beggining of the year, they estimated 12 million, w/i 3 months it jumped to 38. . . .

I hope its not false information, i really do, but im cautious to believe anything as we all know the gov. likes cheap labor and taking advantage of people in bad situations. Hopefully after the 1st and after the birthright act passes things will get better, they'll quit giving birth for welfare and citizenship, and an american will be able to find a job again.

L-O-L You seem to be forgetting NAFTA. Semi trucks that are domiciled out of Mexico are now running free from any restrictions, across the USA. Do you really believe these trucks are only full of cargo? Do you really believe they're not going to have people inside some of these trailers coming north from Mexico ??

L-O-L......I've said it before, you anti s are fighting a losing battle.....L-O-L

Yes, however it could also be that fewer apprehensions are a sign that simply,... fewer are being apprehended.

Hard to say at this point.
