Here is the story.. (well it's actually my friends)

She is in college and had to turn in a final which was a paper they had to write. Her friend in the class asked to borrow her paper because she hadn't done it yet and needed help/ideas. My friend let her borrow the paper. The girl never returned to class, won't answer her phone or anything. I know my friend shoudn't have let her borrow the paper but she did and now since the girl hasn't returned it, doesn't that mean she basically stole it? Can we file a police report?

Please help! My friend does not want to fail this class and she doesn't have the money to pay to take it over. We know she was wrong but still.... her "friend" is even more wrong.

My HOA is ignoring my request for maintenance work in the boiler room which is creating an inhabitable situation in my unit. The low humming noise from the boiler pump is preventing us from getting a good night sleep. It has been almost a year since we've made this request and 3 contractors have already made recommendations on the "next" course of action. But the board has continued to ignore my request. When I threatened them with lawsuit, they simply tell me "That is your perogative".

I don't want to get a lawyer as that will cost me a fortune. I just want to go to the Court house and file a lawsuit. But I'd like to know who I can sue. The HOA? The Management company? And who do I serve? the Board member(s)? As long as these questions are answered, I can fill out the form and file a lawsuit. I'm not looking for money - I just want them to fix the darn thing.

In the answer to one of my other question a few days back someone mentioned about liking me to get hard labour. That's not going to happen but what exactly did that cover and when did it stop being given by judges?

I wasn't born until thirty years after he was president, but I think I see what he was like. Barack Obama just reminds me of him, the way he smiles and stuff.

Just finished writing my Christmas Cards to all my friends, acquaintances, and business contacts . Here's copies of the one's I had to write to Democrats. . . . . then at the bottom is a copy of the one I sent to my Conservative Republican friends.

To All My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society ha ve helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

If players are using illegal drugs such as steroids, why is it not up to the local sheriff’s office and the DA in that district to investigate, arrest and prosecute them? Doesn’t the nation have more pressing business to attend to than trying to micro-manage a private enterprise?

If a politician only gets to serve one term, lobbyists & special interests groups can't buy/influence that politicians vote because that politician doesn't need any money for his re election. And the shorter amount of time politicans have in office the less chance they have of screwing things up.

The only problem is special interests groups & lobbyists would never allow this to happen.

My house has not been burglarized, i am just wondering about these things.

say your house has a security camera's. someone breaks in and steal stuff from you, and you are away on vacation. you get back to town a few days afterwards and are watching the tapes. you call the cops and tell them, they go to arrest the person etc. Then say the person sold the stuff they stole.

Could you then sue them to get the money from the cost of what was stolen?

I have ancestors who are Jewish, and I wanted to know more about my heritage, so I signed up for Birthright Israel's free trip to Israel. They bought me a ticket, I paid a deposit.

I then paid $150 to have my trip extended. This money went to another travel organization that works directly with BA.

Then, while speaking on the phone with one of the organizers from BA, I mentioned my reasons for going on the trip. She emailed me afterwards to tell me I was not eligible for the trip, since I was not raised Jewish. I never misrepresented myself--I put everything on the application.

BA refunded my deposit and told me I would have to work out the other $150 with the travel company. But the travel company says they don't offer refunds under any circumstances.

In fact, their terms and conditions don't say that, but they do say the following:

"In the event, your group departure date and flight has been changed (by either you or your organization) AFTER you have already received an extension confirmation by [name of travel company]– your extension then becomes null & void and the extension fee paid will be forfeited. You will have to re-apply for a new extension and pay for the extension again. "

Do I have a case to be made in small claims court? And if so, with whom? Or do I need to kiss the 150 goodbye? That would suck, because I'm already bummed about not even being able to go.

every four years we elect a multimillionaire who somehow convinces the public he/she understands the needs of the average American---and everytime we get screwed.

next year will be no different......and again we will pretend to be outraged

I think it's absolutely necessary to have the death penatly regardless of the cost. I'd rather pay more for a murderer's execution than pay less to keep him alive and playing basketball/working out in prison. :) SO please, no arguments that are in favor of abolishing capital punishment because of the cost. Thanks.

A man who signed on to become a Clark County sheriff's deputy accidentally shot his wife to death in Tualatin on Sunday, according to police.

Police said Ryan Osbrink, 24, was practicing drawing his pistol from a holster when it unintentionally discharged as his wife, Kimberly Osbrink, entered the room.

Do you think this guy qualifies as the idiot of the year?
