Maybe after you have so gallantly brought Iraq democracy and freedom you could then invade Ethiopia and bring them some food and medical supplies. Oh hangon - Their would be no economic gain in it. Silly me sorry for MY ignorance.

Where Are All the Kids Mrs. Clinton Has Saved in Her 35-Year Career?

There is a presidential candidate on the Democrat side, Mrs. Clinton, who claims that this is what she's been accomplishing: "fighting for our kids," and she's been doing this "for 35 years," ever since she met Marion Wright Edelman and joined the Children's Defense Fund, which was supposed to make sure that disadvantaged kids got out of those circumstances and became advantaged, at least had the disadvantages taken away. But now look! We've got surveys and research paper after research paper decrying the decrepit conditions of the very schools where these disadvantaged children have supposedly been helped for 35 years by Mrs. Clinton and Mrs. Edelman and all the others who claim that they have at the top of their agenda list, getting it right for our kids. And yet nothing gets done; nothing gets accomplished. You see, with Mrs. Clinton, we're never supposed to analyze the results of any her claims or the facts behind them.

No, no, no, no, no! Like everything else about liberals, we are to examine only their good intentions. When Mrs. Clinton says, "I have been fighting for 35 years," we're supposed to say, "Oh, wow! Okay. Well, that's good enough for me. She's qualified, because she's been 'fighting,' because she cares." Has she done anything? This is the salient point. What has she accomplished? Where is the track record? It simply isn't there, and it isn't there in practically every other social area of concern where liberals have been paramountly in control in formulating policy, coming up with the, quote, unquote, "funding." You notice nothing ever gets fixed? We have to come back and alter the program or create a whole new redundant program with new funding to help those who somehow "fell through the cracks," when in fact they're all falling through the cracks. In fact, there's no floor. Everybody's in a quagmire trying to get out, but all these liberals led by Mrs. Clinton are trying to help, have been fighting for them for 35 years. Diddly-squat is getting done.

After the Bush Tax Cuts, the Rich Pay More Taxes

Yesterday's Wall Street Journal updates the tax numbers. Before the Bush tax cuts, the top 1% of wage earners paid 37% of all income tax revenue. Now, after the Bush tax cuts, the top 1% is paying 39% of a total income tax bite. That's a 2% increase in the share of total taxes paid by the rich, the top 1%, since the Bush tax cuts went into effect. By the same token, before the Bush tax cuts, the top 5% paid 56% of all income tax revenue. Now the top 5% are paying 60%, after the Bush tax cuts. Now, you might be saying, "How does this happen, It's simple. You have to stop looking at things as a zero-sum game. You have to look at the dynamic results of what tax cuts cause. They cause more jobs. They create more wealth, and as more people gain wealth, they move into these higher tax brackets. There are more people in those brackets; therefore the aggregate income tax collected goes up. They are paying a bigger portion, which, you know, generating revenue to the Treasury is what this is all about. But it's really not; see, because of the Democrats, it's about control. It's not about raising revenue.

Would you be mad if Bush gave oil companies a $247 million tax break if they inturn funded a campaign for legislation he wanted passed that would raise taxes on oil? Just wonder how real Democrats would feel about this.

That is to be totally cut off from europe.
Would we be better or worse off?
I would love Britain to be independent of the eu, but The EU would no doubt stop its members from trading with us if we split from them. What would happen and what would the complications/repurcusions be?

A study by the U.S. Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday backs up the view that undocumented immigrants sap more tax dollars than they provide, especially in education, health care and law enforcement.

The study pulled together reports from the past five years, using data from sources including the Pew Hispanic Center, the Rand Corp., the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and various universities. The Congressional study also incorporated facts from states, including Arizona, but its authors acknowledged there was no aggregate estimate that could be applied to the entire country.

The report says that in 1990, 90 percent of undocumented immigrants primarily were in six states: California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas.

By 2004, undocumented immigrants had increased tenfold in other states, most notably Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, according to statistics from the Pew Hispanic Center.

The report estimates there are 12 million undocumented immigrants nationwide. Of those, 60 percent are uninsured and 50 percent of the children are uninsured. Again using 2004 statistics from the Pew Hispanic Center the average income of undocumented immigrants was $27,400 while Americans earned $47,800. The difference puts undocumented immigrants in a lower tax bracket, thus reducing the amount of federal and state income taxes generated.

The study also showed that while undocumented workers represented just 5 percent of state and federal service costs, their tax revenue did not offset the amount spent by government. The authors of the study stated that, "the general consensus is that unauthorized immigrants impose a net cost on state and local budgets. However, no agreement exists as to the size of, or even the best way of measuring, that cost at a national level."

In education, which the study notes is the largest single expenditure http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2007/12/17/daily19.html

My friend was 7 months pregnant when she was offered a job at a large company, the company knew she was pregnant. She had quite a bit of complications toward the end of her pregnancy, which all were document and excused from work by her physicians. She had her baby yesterday and today she received her paycheck and was suppose to get a employee referral bonus she didn't get it so she called and asked when she was going to get it, they responded by saying she wasn't because she had been fired. She asked why she was fired and they said because you missed to much work with being pregnant and always having to go to the doctor. So two questions are... 1: can they withhold her the employee referral bonus for referring and employee that was hired. 2: can they legally fire her because of pregnancy and medical conditions? I thought that was discrimination, can she take them to court?

Thank You.

Just curious. Liberals keep saying that there is an imaginary war on Christmas. A Presidential candidate has a message stating that during this time of year we should stop and celebrate Christmas, and everyone is up in arms because he is being exclusionary.

I moved into this apartment April 1, 2007. On May 15, he told us that he's selling the house. I was really pissed as I planned on staying here for a while and my kids love it here. Well, now, the real estate agent takes it upon himself to just walk into my apartment with prospective buyers. I only know about the 3 times its happened while I've been home. Twice I was sleeping and woken by a man's voice IN MY HOUSE! I've complained to my landlord numerous times, and explained that I'm upset, that this is my home and I feel as though I'm on display. What can I do legally? I know that they have to give me 24 hours notice before they enter, and they don't, so what do I do? I can't afford an attorney, so whatever I do, I have to do on my own. Please help, I'm so upset about this, I feel so violated.

Now that a Swedish study confirms a link between cell phone use and brain tumors, showing that 10 years of steady use can causes tumors, do you think it would be fair for cell phone users to sue companies like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile for failing to warn them of the dangers. I belive in the movie "than you for smoking", the guy who use to represent big tobacco switches over to reprsenting cell phone industries.

So who do you think should be blamed?

I completed a loan application through Think Financial. The loan was said to have been disbursed by December 3 and arrive before December 17. I told the employees of Think Financial that my loan check did not come through and they said they would have to redo the process which means loan comes back to them in 3 days and I have to wait 2 more weeks. I have registration in less than 2 weeks and if I cant pay this bill I wont register and I may risk losing my scholarship because scholarships require one to have completed 24 credits before the end of the school year unless there was a physical injury or uncontrollable leave of absense.

The show takes successful people and asks them questions that are at a 5th grade level. Many of the questions cannot be answered. This seems to me to make our education system irrelevant to the real world. I thought the liberal establishment would have a problem with this.

So I ask, why liberals and groups like the teacher's union not protesting this show?

Have I drilled the love I have for the military too strongly into him?

American women are suppose to be equal to men in terms of rights voting power, right to run for office, join the military. Yet however it seems that many jurors do not think women should be equal for the maximum penalty under the law which is the death penalty. Even when they commit murders such as killing a police officer, murdering a child, murder for hire, and participating in a kidnapping or burglary type murder which jurors are sympathetic to they are never sentenced to death.
