Chuck Norris was in the Air Force. Studied Tae Kwon Do in Korea. Finished his enlistment and continued studying. Won some martial arts titles. Broke into his first movie as a US champion fighting Bruce Lee and enjoyed it quite a lot.

It was hard getting backing for his first staring role. Essentially he finally got a production company to back him by explaining that he was a martial arts champion and that the million martial arts students in the US would pay four bucks to come see him in a movie.

That little line got his first movie off the ground and he has made money for producers ever since. Like Arnold Schwartzneggar, Chuck Norris is a business man who found money to be made in movies as well as in other places.

Steve McQueen gave Chuck Norris the best movie advice, "keep your mouth shut and let the actors act. You just say something profound occasionally and the people will flock to see you." This is a piece of advice many martial artists, sports stars and other famous people should listen to since they can't act very well and is one of the main reasons Chuck Norris has been successful in the movie industry where others have failed.

Chuck Norris is, and has been, a religious person who believes that God has been instrumental in his life.

He has an auto biography that is well worth reading and I read a biography every month or two. I read his about twenty years ago.

I saw him on Larry King the other night and was not impressed. I've watched him in many "B" movies - usually about missing POWs still being held by the Vietnamese or some other teenage acne-spotted boy fantasy and he's really a terrible actor. Makes Segal look like DeNiro.

And about Huckabee, the more I see of this guy, the less I like him. He's trouble, big-time, right wing Christian fundamentalist trouble. And I'm a Catholic, so I DO believe in Christ.

I wish the GOP would get smart and start backing McCain. There would be millions of crossover votes for McCain and I think he'd make a damn fine president.

Norris is exercising his right as an American to back whoever he likes. He's one of the few Hollywood characters with the guts to speak out as a conservative. Good for him.

Chuck Norris has no chin; behind his beard is another fist.
