LOL, I'm shocked! I asked him if he wanted to ask a question, using YA forum. I asked him what do you care about the most. He said "the Military!" I looked at him, my mouth agape, and he said "we'll, you, too!"
Have I drilled the love I have for the military too strongly into him?

My son doesn't play military type video games. He plays Spiderman...by Marvel.

I think it is typical for little boys. I was like that with no real outside influence. Boys like stuff that blows other stuff up!

Perhaps it was you, I do not know. I hope my children have the respect for the freedoms we have, like I do, some day.

So you gave your son a appreciation for the military, whats wrong with that? If he chooses to go into the military that's his decision. As long as your not telling him he will join then what is the problem. More people should appreciate the military. Sounds like he is ready to become a model citizen!

Typical of politics, yahate, there are a bunch of 'counter culture' anti- military, who have provided their ilk / scatology. As a 1. Father, 2. American, 3. Veteran, I offer this advise :: pay NO attention to those who do not have the intestinal fortitude to train for any eventuality, necessary to protect "THEIR RIGHTS OF FREE SPEECH" and their attempts to place a FALSE SENSE of guilt on you.
And these are the future of the USA??
"cowards united" is their tagged association !
Bless your son, and you.

that is to cool, that a 10 year old cares about our military.
my oldest son is in the military.

edit, sport...
my son is in the Navy
he likes it but every one is different. if you want to be gone most of the time and would like to see the world then Navy is the way to go. if you want more of a laid back week end barbecue kind of life then Air force would be for you but if you want to see action and get personally involved then Army is it
very happy that you made it back ok and thank you for you service

No, i'm very happy to see a 10-year-old who already sees the importance of our military and how much they are doing for him and his country. We need more children like yours in America. Then maybe more people (specifically dems) would stand behind our troops instead of debating on whether funding for our troops is beneficial or not. :)

thats my kind of kid! I hope my kid has that kind of love for his country as yours does. If anything, you might not have drilled it into him enough! lol We all know that he dosn't put his love for the military above you, its just what he finds "cool". I sure hope he takes his love for the military and his country and puts it to use as he gets older, in whatever he does (hopefully a congressman or officer in the military lol)

Sounds like me when I was a boy.

Your Sons patriotism's is a direct reflection of good parenting.

His actions bring great credit upon himself, his family, and the United States Army.

No we(the nation) needs more parents like you... not to say that you aren't more important than the military but I think that you did a good job so far (and not that you won't) raising your child....But if we would have more parents like you, we wouldn't be such a controversial nation.

Um, I don't think you come second. If he had to pick b/w you dying right now or him being able to joint the military when he turns 18, I promise you'd win. But only a really mean parent would actually ask their son that.
