Norway and Switzerland have not joined , they have no probs trading with the rest of europe , heres the answer to the very last question i answered why we shouldnt be part of it :
centralisation of power joining many nations together blanketing with the same laws rules and obtaining power over all country's step by step , just like we have seen in 1972 it was a free market agreement that slowly morphed into a union whilst today people cant understand what they voted for 36 years ago .
along with the EU there has been other unions created eg the african union , asian union and the north american union which is on the horizon yet as the media is so controlled most dont know about it or think its a conspiracy theory .
anyway all these unions are based on the model of the EU and eventually be merged together using the same methods as were used to create these union , this will all be done to create total world government not good .
watch this a must see http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=1070329053600562261&total=100&start=60&num=10&so=0&type=t100_gbr&plindex=63 tells you all about it and more , complicated subject that enters every fascit of society .

All very good suggestion& answers about the UK getting out of Europe, but what would the UK then do? UK needs EU more than EU needs it, UK would not be able to survive on its own. SO yea, we can complain all we want, but who would we trade with, half of UK's food comes from EU and the 2/3 or the other from far flung emerging economies. Then think of all the infrastructural implications, the Euro tunnel, the channel etc are all shared in ownership& maintenance. It means then to get to France for eg Britons would require to pay to use the parts of the tunnel that are french-maintained etc. And think of the visa requirements. if you have never had to stand in a four hour queue to apply for a visa and been met by an arrogant visa official who then asks you to prove that you have a quarter million pounds in your account before they can even consider your application, you may not understand the advantage being able to travel through Europe without requiring a visa is. No, UK must remain in Europe, and just drive its own agenda (Gordon Brown is doing a fair job of this at the moment), like everybody else. And EU must stop expanding itself all over the place, this is not the rebuilding of a new empire, it is supposed to be a trading block.

For Britain to cut itself off from the EU would be a monumental folly. The administrative cost would be phenomenal, running into billions of pounds and the repercussions could be felt for years to come. Also how could a trade barrier between the UK and the EU be beneficial to Britain. Surely the free movement of goods and services within Europe must be good for business. In addition to that it is in the interest of all European nations, including Britain, to form a strong economic block to be able to negotiate trade agreements on equal terms with China. To illustrate the benefits of unity even further, imagine the American civil war had lead the actual USA to be split into two separate countries non of which being as rich as the American nation we know today. The Western World would surely be a much poorer place. The EU is not a threat, it is a great source of opportunities and it empowers all the nations who are part of it. It has so far united 27 countries without spilling a single drop of blood which is a spectacular achievement.

I don'tthink that we would be totally cut off. The only country that obeys EU legislation is the UK. Apart from which, we would no longer be paying a fortune to trade within Europe and would be free to trade with whoever we wished in the rest of the world.
The only repercussions that I can see is that we would be better off. That idiot in number 10 would look even more of a fool, and the rest of us could look forward to a return to real democracy.
The books might even balance!!!!!!!!!!!
