Does anyone in the military know how they determine what increment you are in when you advance? I've heard some people say that it's determined by your percentile - if so, what percentile for which increment??

I was in the 82nd percentile... would I have by any chance made increment???

BUT, there always has to be a but, my GPA is a 3.2, and I am not in a hard major (English). I know they have a public policy program for officers (as my mother was an officer in that particular field), but anyway, I don't really want to ask my mom about it, because I am not even sure I want to join, and I know if I couldn't just go in as an officer I wouldn't want to join at all. I don't know, I just wondered if I had any chance, I guess.

i scored an 84 on asvab. i picked security forces as my top job. and i didnt get it! i got some mechanical job that i picked instead which wasnt my top pick. my recruiter said that i scored "too high" to get that job right away. am i screwed outta that job for good? i thought that was one of the biggest job categories and all who pick it get it? just wondering

I was injured (skin burnt during routine wax and top layer of skin removed) at a salon. I've since healed but am angry because it should never have happened and then when I called to simply get my money refunded was treated very badly by the store director. I have pics of the injury and have typed up a legal professional letter to mail to corporate. I needed to know if I could demand a refund (I never followed through w/ the store director because of how I was treated) and reimbursement for my medial expenses (prescription for burn ointment) as well as money for pain/suffering. Can I state if I dont' receive that I will take them to court? Or is that threatening? Thanks!

At the time there was a lot of open bigotry among the NYPD and the gay population. They are arresting anyone who was suspected of "gay behavior" in public and shutting down many gay hang-outs.

The Stone-Wall incident was when the police raided this gay bar and started beating a few people with night-sticks. When people were being brought to the squad cars, bar patrons started throwing bottles and chairs at the police and the violence led to the streets.

It is held in the gay community as an honorable day but I wanted to know if the police today think the same thing. Is violence against the police ever "ok"?

I've never been in the Navy, but I'm trying understand the logistics of a sailor's discharge after completing his or her service. What I'd like to know is what city were you in? Did you come right off a ship? Or were you on a base somewhere? Was a happy event? Did it feel almost like a celebration? What did you do to celebrate?
