He will be paid as follows:

Base $2419.80 (in 2007, it will go up January 1st)

Family Separation :$250.00

Hostile Fire $225.00 (if deploying into a combat zone)

BAH : depends on the zip code of where you live, this varies a great deal because it is based on the average cost of housing where you live. He is authorized BAH type 1 with dependents.

Hardship duty: He may qualify for this, it will range from $50 to $150 per month

Combat zone tax exclusion: the money that he earns in a combat zone is tax free so there should not be any taxes taken out.
So, lets say for example that in your zip code the BAH rate is $1000.00 per month. We will also assume that he carries full SGLI on himself and you. This will take out $34.50 a month for SGLI and spouse SGLI. He may also contribute to the TSP (Thrift Savings Plan). This will be a percentage of his base pay.

Base $2419.80
BAH $1000.00
FSA $250.00
HFP $225.00
HDP $150.00
Total $4044.80
minus SGLI $34.50= $4010.30
Each check will be around $2000.00 minus any TSP contribution. Hope this helps, good luck to you both.

Basic Pay $2419.80
Family Sep (if he has been gone longer than 30 days) $250

So that is $2669.80 in total. He is deployed where? Because only if he is in the Middle East will there be Hostile Fire of $225 per month. Save Pay of $100 per month. For an extra $325. He may also be getting BAH which is $279.88 per month. So the max on just pay is around $ 3274.68 PER MONTH, not per pay period. If you are overseas then it can depend on your location and how many dependents as to the rate you would be getting per month. The same as BAH it will depend on where you are living.

Now this total is BEFORE taxes are taken out, along with other deductions. FICA is taken out each month and then returned, plus there is also Social Security, Medicare, SGLI, FGSLI, AFRH, TSP, Tricare Dental, etc.. so this can add up. You should figure that the pay is only going to be around $1200 to $1400 per paycheck.

If can find out and view the LES. In order to do that, the AD member has to be the one that sets you up on it.

That question has many variables. Years active, special qualifications, etc. Go here http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay.html and poke around. You will get a base monthly from the pay charts for 2007. The charts show per month income not per pay period.

it will vary because everyone's BAH will be different. Plus there's the craziness of HFP/IDP, save pay, FSH when it kicks in, etc.

you can expect around an extra Grand or so each month when things settle down and stabilize(tax free if applicable, etc)

if hes been in for 6 then its 2519.40.
so take your base pay and add 225 for combat pay and 250 for immenent danger pay.
