His father apparently gets around $50K per speech (or used to after leaving office); Clinton gets 6 figures. Will Bush be in either one's neighborhood dollar wise?

I've been voting for over thirty years and I don't recall an election like this one. I believe the candidates are discussing more real issues than ever before.

Britain plans to ban the sale of samurai swords because the weapons have been used in a number of serious, high-profile attacks. The Home Office (Britain's Interior Ministry) said on Wednesday the swords would be added to its Offensive Weapons Order from April next year, meaning they could not be imported, sold or hired. However collectors of genuine Japanese swords and those used by martial arts enthusiasts would be exempt from the ban.

Lets see, ban guns, nope violence still happening, in fact went up. Now swords. The stupid just never seems to end.

This is something my friends and I debate a lot. Carbines are shorter and are for shorter range and smaller spaces like urban combat zones, therefore possibly a better chance for a hit whereas the rifle is longer, more powerful, and most often, a template for a carbine. (e.g. the M1 carbine & the M1 Garand or the M-16 and the M-4 carbine) Also, rifles tend to be more accurate than carbines. I stick by my guns (no pun intended) by saying the rifle is the better of the two choices but all my friends all say the carbine is the way to go for an infantryman. Can a veteran or someone currently serving settle this argument?

I live in Fairfield CA. The other night me and 9 other friends of mine decided ot play Airsoft in an undeveloped area and 9 cop cars showed up with a K9 unit. We came down the hill and we had Shotties drawn on us. They told us it's illegal in city limits but we can go out to County. Anyone know where County is? Or whats to be considered county limits?

I was going home on the late train two nights ago, when I saw some bloke obviously trying to pickpocket a woman standing in the middle of the train.
I was about to shout 'hey' when he was spotted by a large builder-looking fella standing not far away.
He grabbed the pickpocket, who was a skinny runt of a guy - about 30, bit unkempt - and starting beating the living sh1t out of him. Then, what I suspect was his mate, joined in. They kicked the cr4p out of this guy.

The woman poked him with her umbrella, sort of joining in.

Anyway, next stop, they door opens at Queenstown Road and they literally throw this guy onto the platform where he lies in a heap.
Thing is - I'm now thinking, on reflection, shouldn't I have done something? OK - he was a thief, but they nearly(?) killed this guy. Shouldn't I have intervened, or called an ambulance or something.
I know it's stupid, but it's really bugging me.
What would you have done? Did I do the wrong thing to sit on my bum and just look?

When you listen to just about any of the democratic candidates, you will almost certainly hear something like this: "....the failure of the current admininstration", "........the failure of the Bush administration" and similar lines. Don't they realize that the candidate they will be up against after the conventions won't be GEORGE W. BUSH?

My sister was seeing a doctor for her baby blues and moodswings after the birth of my nephew. About two weeks before she ran out of medication she called the doctor to get a refil. She left numerous messages with the receptionist and on the answering service but he never returned her call. She also called in the refils to the pharmacy and they were not able to get ahold of the doctor either. Eventually she ran out of her medications and went on a downward spiral. She ended up having to be hospitalized for her condition. Does she have a legal standpoint to sue the doctor?

As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.
