I've been getting calls from a bill collector for several months now. I keep telling them I don't owe any money, and to send me a statement. Everytime they have called, they have claimed to have sent a statement.

Today the same woman called, asked for ME, and once again told me I had bills from 2006, and wanted to know how I was going to pay today. I kept telling her I had talked with the hospital and I owed nothing. At that point she told me she was collecting on someone else who lived at my address.

However, I have lived here, alone, for the past five years. She said our names were 'linked' in the computer, and that's why she was asking me for the money. When I got off the phone with her she said she would get it sorted out, and get back to me.

Doesn't this violate the HIPPA laws? Why did she ask for me, and expect me to pay a bill not in my name? Isn't that illigal? I got the name of the company and the collecrot's name. What do I do now?

I have to write a campaign speech and I need a fake name for the candidate I am writing about and a funny/appropriate slogan.
Like a name that runs together but when said it's catchy and kinda funny, like Deman Fordajob, and then make a funny slogan with it.

Any ideas?

It seems to me that liberals are TOO open minded, and Yes, me the conservative is somewhat closed minded, But that for a good reason, its not because I want to oppress others, it has to do with self respect, self dignity, and self control. So to me, one that is TOO open minded in those (self's) that I listed, is not anything but self righteousness.

I have a friend that was raped just over a year ago. No charges were ever made, if you know anything about our legal system putting through a rape charge is virtually impossible. This is a fact she has long ago accepted however this guy is still living in the same town and she constantly worries in the back of her mind if she is going to run into him on the street. The guy in question is living here illigally and working under the table and not paying taxes. I was wondering if anyone knew the process to report and have someone like this deported as that would go a long way to restoring my friends piece of mind.

Sam sent me and email asking if what they were saying on a message board was true about waht this guy did to John. I sent Sam back an email saying, "Yes, I know for a fact that he screwed John over". I did not say Joe's name I said "he". I also stated that "I would under no circumstances buy anything from this guy (I did say this guy)but it was Sam's choice to do so if he choose to.
Anyway, Sam forwarded this email to Joe. Joe now has sent me a summons to sue for libel, Slander (even though it was not oral) and deframation. Joe lives in another state than I do.
He also stated in the summons that I said things about him which I did not. I didn't even mention his name in the email. The summons if full of lies. What do they mean by response needed in 20 days to the summons and what should I include in the response? Sorry for all the questions but I was served today and I need to know what to do ASAP Thanks for any help.

Over 3000 men was killed in Iraq. Yet everyone in america knows who jessica lynch even though she was not killed. She is recoving from the kidnap and rape but said that she is grateful to be alive and is a better state than the men who died. The young men who was killed in Iraq only received 5 minutes of news attention and few people know any of their names of the top of heads but everyone knows lynch who survived. Is this a double standard that people value women lives more than men.

After the usual Spiel about "lessons will be learned" and "lines will be drawn under" and "World Class" schools and such-like!
We come the Nitty Gritty:
all this will be spread ove the next 10 years.

Here is a real "beaut": Labour sold all the Playing Fields to Property Developers.
These are the same people who give secret donations to Labour (like that feller Abrahams)
NOW, Labour is going to BUY THEM BACK!
At huge expense for Taxpayers BUT huge profits for the Property Developers.
This gets even better!
1. The reason Playing Fields were sold off ( apart from back-handers from profiteers) was Health and Safety.
2. NOW, 1000's of jobs will be created for Health an Safety Administrators and their minions to STOP kiddies playing on these newly-created Playing Fields!
3.A whole army of Lawyers will be employed to siphon Billions out of the cases of whether an "unsafe" Playing Field becomes "safe" once it is bought back from a Property Developer and expanded ?

Merry Christmas, My Friend

By James M. Schmidt, a Marine Lance Corporal
stationed in Washington, D.C., in 1986
Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.

I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live

As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.

With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I'd seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.

I'd heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.

He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

His head was clean-shaven, his weathered face tan.
I soon understood, this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night,
owed their lives to these men, who were willing to fight.

Soon around the Nation, the children would play,
And grown-ups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom, each month and all year,
because of Marines like this one lying here.

I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve, in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye.
I dropped to my knees and I started to cry.

He must have awoken, for I heard a rough voice,
"Santa, don't cry, this life is my choice
I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more.
My life is my God, my country, my Corps."

With that he rolled over, drifted off into sleep,
I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.

I watched him for hours, so silent and still.
I noticed he shivered from the cold night's chill.
So I took off my jacket, the one made of red,
and covered this Marine from his toes to his head.
Then I put on his T-shirt of scarlet and gold,
with an eagle, globe and anchor emblazoned so bold.
And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride,
and for one shining moment, I was Marine Corps deep inside.

I didn't want to leave him so quiet in the night,
this guardian of honor so willing to fight.
But half asleep he rolled over, and in a voice clean and pure,
said "Carry on, Santa, it's Christmas Day, all secure."
One look at my watch and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend, Semper Fi and goodnight.

In 2002 we rented a house to some bad people. They trashed the house and to make a long story short we attempted to take them to small claims court but they disappeared and had to close the case because we could not find them to be served. It is almost 6 years later and we know where they are at but I think too much time has passed. Can I still pursue this or am I just SOL??

I got my first traffic ticket today for turning right on red. I never saw the sign but I know that excuse doesn't matter. I am going to go to court because the traffic ticket price is about three weeks of groceries for me and I just can't afford it.

So, my question is what am I supposed to say when I go to court? I was going to plead guilty but ask for a lighter fine. If the cop doesn't show up do I still plead guilty or will they not even question me and throw it out? I don't know how it works. If anyone does please let me know.

Do you provide some kind of food (doughnuts, sandwiches) and drinks to your movers? We never did but the last time we moved here in Hawaii the movers seemed very annoyed and even asked us for food and water (which we didn't have).

Coincidentally (I think not) alot of our furniture was damaged during that move.

Just 18% of American voters believe that Iran has halted its nuclear weapons program. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 66% disagree and say Iran has not stopped its nuclear weapons program.

Is that 18% just the far left extremists? Do you think we should continue to take a close look at Iran? If we ended up going to war with Iran over this issue, will 72% of the country actually back us?
