If they died, would that mean they were tortured?

Yes, there have been documented deaths in both places while in custody. I'm certain that, however, you will never get a statement from the US military prison keepers that says a person died under harsh interrogation procedures, and certainly not from anything that could be construed as illegal, like waterboarding.

Of course, there are easier ways to torture people. You just have to make it look good. I'm actually enjoying the hearings with that Air Force clown that refuses to answer any of Congress' questions regarding waterboarding. Him and the CIA director...two lying sacks of dog feces. Offer the Air Force clown immunity from prosecution and then we'll see what is what.

I just read the previous answer and I wonder if you have ever had a gun pointed in your general direction. Or Have you ever fought in any war at all. If you have you would know that even soldiers have a code of conduct. It's not about being weak or even saving lives. It's about honor, and "enhanced interrogation" as you put it is not honorable.

Oh man.. I'd have to search for a bit to remember where I read or heard this. But yes, people have died in those prisons and upon autopsy strange bruises were found on some of the bodies and the likes. Torture? maybe. Prison fight? maybe.... but something isn't right in those places.

i;am tired of hearing about all this torture crap.what about the enemy ever think they torture our troops as well.what ever it takes to save a life is worth the torture if it means saving hundreds or thousands of lives.we as Americans are just suppose to say it;s alright to torture our soldiers.but we won;t torture your soldiers because we are a kind and gentle nation.Americans don;t do such things.well the hell with all you pansy asses out there.tell that to the Germans and the Japanese who tortured our troops during world war two.and to this day our enemies are still torturing our troops when they are captured.what about putting sacks over the heads of captured Americans and putting a rifle to their heads and pulling the trigger.i guess that;s ok.what about cutting off the heads of captured Americans i guess that;s ok to.not to mention not feeding our captured American soldiers and civilian workers that;s ok to do i guess as well.stupid America wake up and smell the roses.if you politicans don;t like the way our soldiers are doing things. then end this damn war and bring our troops home.other wise stay the hell out of the war business.
