The US may have the over all better record on human rights, but in war time - emotions get involved & people rarely give much info of value for free. Even in the police departments they play good cop bad cop. The Left should acknowledge the real world we live in. OOps I forgot if we lived in a Utopia there'd be no wars no need for this question.

I can't get excited if my govt uses mild forms of torture to get info from these radical Islamic murdering animals. People who place bombs that kill hundreds of innocent civilians deserve to be tortured. These terrorists are the lowest form of human life and I don't care what our govt does with them. Do you know what they do to their prisoners? They torture them and then behead them. No quarter for these animals!

Not everyone tortures. Just the neo-cons who think the end justifies the means. It's ideology at it's finest, and in their eyes, the security they pretend to create for us means they can do anything, say anything, kill anyone and steal anything they want.

We do not torture. We do use harsh interogation techniques, because we need to obtain information from known terrorists. But not one thing we do will cause great pain or lasting damage of any kind. Discomfort, perhaps, but that doesn't bother me a bit.
