No, I have walked past two bodies already 'found' by joggers last year near the Charles River in Boston, and the Stateys and coroner's office were already there. But in case I do find a body in one of my early morning jaunts, how will I be treated by the police?

No! I mean yes, they'll keep in touch with you, but if you have no evidence behind you, that's just wrong! If they call you in with NO evidence make sure for signs of predjudice or reasiscm..

If you are careful to not touch anything, thus leaving no physical evidence of close approach to the DB, you are better off than if you poked around to see if the person was really dead. If you have a cell phone, call the cops and stand there to protect the scene. This is not only in their best interests, it is in your best interests that the crime scene be intact. That way it will be far easier for the police to develop evidence that rules you out.

You will definitely be a person of interest to them, but I would hesitate to say "suspect". Suspects are developed by evidence, not by coincidence.
All unattended deaths are treated as suspicious, and the police work backwards from there, so you should expect a lot of questions.

Your not considered a suspect based upon any 1 reason. Any one who is considered a suspect there are numerous reasons why they are considered a suspect.

Did you find a dead body? Or are you just curious in case one day you decide to "find" one, whether or not they will try to pin it on you?

I'm sure you will be questioned. If you had nothing to do it then you're fine.... I'm not a cop and I knew that....its called common sense.
