If it is an effective tool of law enforcement, and the downside is the inconvience of certain people for safety checks, I'm all for it.

The Israeli El-Al airlines uses it and has the best anti terrorist record of any commercial carrier.

Why do police profile blacks and the pull them over....well experience has taught them that there is a very good chance that they will find some kind violation if they pull a black person over, years have experience has taught them that if they investigate they is a very good chance they will find a Motor Vehicle violation or some drugs. Sometimes the truth just tastes bad...I'm sorry.

If 1 race is committing any crime more than all other races then profiling would be a great tool in crime prevention and suspect apprehension!!!

If terrorists were 85% white males then I garrentee that I'd be looked at all the time!!!

The same logic comes into play here: If a black, brown, asian, or gay man Kills a straight white, it is a crime, however if that straight white man kills any of the others for any reason, it is called a "hate crime"and has stiffer penalties simply because the word hate was added to the charge, If a minority kills another minority it's not a "hate crime" that term seems only ment for " WHITY"!!!!!!!!!!

It's wrong, and it can lead to many false positives and undetected negatives. If it were to take place in the US, I guarantee you white guys like me would be off the radar. Now, I would never carry out a terrorist attack, but with a racial profiling atmosphere I might be more capable of doing so, since I would be less suspected.

It also sends negative messages to races that are profiled, like they are expected to be bad, they are expected to be terrorists. It can send the wrong message about how we treat people and what we expect of them.

Go for it. If there was a rash of cute 20-something white girls causing acts of terror and blowing up Americans, I would not blink an eye if I had to spend a few extra minutes being scanned at the airport. I would rather be inconvenienced a few minutes than to let someone through the screening with a bomb because someone is afraid of being called a racist.

I think it's a form of stereotyping. You are singling out a particular race of people just because a small number of individuals of that race do something bad.

Why aren't white men of European decent ever singled out? Look at Timothy McVeigh. He was a white man. The IRA bombing were done by white men. Neo-Nazis are white. But yet, no one stops me at the airport because some white men have done bad things, and maybe I will too because I'm a white man.

Call it whatever you like, but when the police are looking for a young, white male should they make sure they check for little old ladies?

That does not mean it should be abused or people should lose their rights.
