My mom lent 20k to a buisness owner but the business owner doen't want to pay back. I already talked to a cop, he told me to call a lawyer. Then I talked to a lawyer, the lawyer told me it will be expensive to hire him and he doesn't guarantee my mom will win the case.

All we have, is a 20k check from the business owner. What should we do now ?

Do police really care if they've got the right guy or not or are they more interested in getting a promotion and pay rise and making sure they can look forward to retiring on a healthy pension scheme to live off?

How many honest cops are there really out there? Isn't their image and reputation more important to them than who they lock up after all isn't it better to pin it on someone rather than on no one otherwise people might lose confidence in the force and maybe even in the justice system itself?

Some credit card companies are raising interest rates on good customers even if they pay down their balances, on time, every month. The reason they cite is that the customer's credit rating has fallen elsewhere.

Personally I don't believe in Credit Cards, my motto is "if I can't buy it with cash, I don't need it".

OK, before I say anything, I do not want you to even "answer" if your just going to bash me and tell me things I already know. if you believe you are innocent until proven guilty and will help me, I thank you very much in advanced.

I handed in a paper for my Music Appreciation about a month ago. The assignment was to go to a classical music concert then write a review. I attended a concert and did the paper, handed it in and havn't thought about it since. Today my professor asked to talk with me after class. She said she suspects plagirarism in my paper and we set up an appointment to talk to the department chair on Monday. I was pretty surprised to hear this so I went back and looked at my paper. I didn't recall any sort of misconduct but it turns out I did take a few other peoples opinions about the artist into my paper. I should of put quotes around them I know but obviously I didn't. I there was one celebrity that you would vote for for US president which one would it be and why? I would have to say Amy Winehouse! Ah Just Kidding! Being a female (maybe thats why??) I seem to encounter them a lot... (not to mention a ton of my in-laws!!) and if I care about the person I will take the time and explain all of my real reasons.... but what about those people that are just uninformed and ungrateful that just want to make a "smart" comment??? The ones that say "What are you, suicidal.. dont you know we're at war" or something to that affect....
I dont want to be rude, but its a little hard... The three responses Ive been using are:

Im going so you dont have to...

Im going so you have the freedom to say.. (whatever dumb coment they just said)

And ...So you can put a "support the troops" bumper stick on your car and pretend that you do!

But hey, its getting old...
