Lowered? To what, 16? As most young adult don't vote as it is, I'd leave it at 18. Maybe if someone is under 18 and in the military they should be able to vote.

It's probably best where it is. By 18 you should have gained enough knowledge about how the world works to make such important decisions.
Yes it's not fair, somebody is ready at 16 and another isn't until 20 (or even 50). But there's no other way to work it without having a poll test, which is illegal because they historically have been abused to prevent certain peoples from voting.
The U.S. Constitution says that any right to vote you are given cannot be impaired by race, religion, age if at least 18, or gender. But the Constitution does not give anyone a right to vote. Voting is done at the State level.

Since 18 is the age of majority in the United States, the voting age should stay the same. If the voting age were to be lowered, the age of majority would have to go down as well. I do not agree with that because under 18 is too young to make adult decisions.

Its should definitly stay the same. People who are 18-25 hardly vote and when they do vote they are usually uniformed voters. They vote just like there friends vote with no particular reason to pick a candidate. There is no need to lower the voting age, if anything someone should propose to raise the voting age so that way young people who have the privilege of voting actually will see how important there vote is and go out to vote.

Absolutly not, if anything the voting age is almost to young now. If you are under 25 you have no idea about the real world yet. The only reason you have the right to vote at 18 is because the military needs troops.

No. During Vietnam, the voting age was 21, however people who were 18 were fightin and dieing for America. The voting age should only be lowered if those able to vote were eligible to be drafted.

No, I think the voting age should stay the same. Kids for the most part lack the maturity to decide political issues.

I know I'm under 18 and have the maturity to vote, but many others my age do not, so I think 18 is good.

no it should stay where it is. people under 18 need a few more years of experience in this crazy world before making an imformed decision. however, it probably wouldnt matter because most young people do not bother to vote anyway.
