I am British and feel no bond, just contempt for American foreign policy and for the fact that this most powerful wealthy country allows so many of its own people to live in such poverty Most of the basis of the contemporary "special relationship" dates back to the Second World War when a more enlightened America came to Britain's aid at a crucial time. Since the Thatcher era Britain's politicians have allowed their political philosophy
and morality to be corroded by America's mass murdering zeal to destabalise any non right wing governments around the world, and to completely control any oil producing country,
even by bombing and killing many many innocent people. Meanwhile the cultural and corporate capitalism lifstyle of America - shopping and junk food consumption, has been allowed to permeate British life, and British people brutalised
and uneducated by successive British politicians following American domestic policies here.

Other than the native American Indians the original settlers were British. They brought the English language to the Americas plus progress and laws,
we brought plenty of good things but plenty of bad as well,
we are the same but different the bond is strong and will not be broken, in god we trust.

A shared history / language and of course the United Kingdom once had an Empire, most of which we are still funding and helping out. Similarly the USA seem to likewise be funding and helping out many other countries. Our combined generosity to others therefore binds us.
