Well lets see. The World made a lot of commotion about the Israelis building a wall to stop suicide bombers from coming into Israel proper. But the Israelis say is has saved lives.

In Southern California a Wall has been built to stop the flow of illegals into that State and by what Duncan Hunter has said it has reduced Crime by almost thirty percent and stop the wave of illegals from getting in.

So --by those two accounts a wall seems like a good idea.

Now Granted a Wall/Fence is not going to stop every single illegal from flying over it, tunneling under it or sneaking through it's Gates. But it will reduce the avalanche of illegals that pour across the border to a more managable level.

Just like the Fence in your backyard does not stop the neighbor kids from jumping it to retrieve the football that got accidentally thrown over it.

It is a definable "LINE IN THE SAND" that forces people to use more of their resources to get around and as anybody knows --the harder something is to overcome--the less people are likely to "OVERCOME IT."

I would remind you of a Poem I read in High school English class.

Good fences make good neighbors by Robert Frost.

The country should strengthen its boundaries from now on because, the government can't deport every illegal immigrate in the country. It will take a lot time and money that we don't have.
I know American is consider a first world country and should help those in need.
But what about its citizen?
If we allow more immigrate to enter the country the citizen will be the one to suffer.
The main thing is to secure our boundaries

Electing politicians who will enforce our laws will solve the problem, but building a strong fence will help. It will also make it harder for terrorists and drug smuggler's to get into the country. Go Duncan Hunter; he got the fence built in San Diego and it really cut down on the number of illegal invaders!

It would help. It would keep Illegals from just walking across the border or swimming across.
If you stop most from coming and have stricter penalties for getting caught, they would think twice about it. Maybe we should make it a real crime with penalties to sneak across the borders. If you get arrested in Mexico you may never see daylight again unless you have money.

Since about 40% of illegal aliens don't come across the Mexican border, a wall would only solve about 60% of the problem at best.

It would be a good, simple start. We still need to figure out what to do with the illegal immigrants that are here already.

It's only one piece of an overall strategy.

Workplace enforcement (which has increased, but not enough for my tastes), the SAVE act which is pending right now, convince the feds to start enforcing the laws we already have.

Some states are starting to pass anti-illegal legislation. More will follow.

According to this TV news piece, the fence IS WORKING!

Spend a lot of money just to slow them down a bit? Hell no, it a waste of tax money. Why not give them citizenship IF the join the army? This of course is only a rough idea.

Partially, but we need to also cut EVERY benefit available to these people, including anchor baby laws. Deport all illegals. And stop listening to the wussie civil rights groups.
