Okay, most of us can work and even retire in a job that we just don't like but in my case I really hate my job. It's simple. I applied for a job that promised me more pay and it's in writing. Nothing was said until I got my first pay check. I was told that it was a mistake by our Human Resources Office. I asked to quit but I was I couldn't because I signed a two year service agreement. Now, I'm fighting it, legally. I have no trust of my employer. I was marked for being late but that's because I don't make enough for gas and it's all because I budgeted on the pay that I was promised. I do good work but when I protested against this I was reprised. I was marked for showing up late to work exactly 5 mins. I even volunteered to make up the time but I was told that's personal. I just want to leave my job, what do I do without worrying about punitive damages? I mean they reniged to begin with...

and no, "democracy in iraq" doesn't count. it has nothing to do with terrorism.

i'm sure i'll hear the common conservative refrain of "we haven't been attacked since 9/11", so i'll clear a few things up:

1 the last time 3000 americans were killed on american soil was during the war of 1812
2 whether or not the plot is successful is almost insignificant considering the war and the military in iraq is not who foils the plot. the fbi does. in order to gauge whether or not the war is a success, we need to look at the number of plots (whether successful or not), per capita. if you've followed the news you know that the number of plots per year is on the rise.

http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/reports/incomemobilitystudyfinal.pdf

Please look at Table 3 of the linked Treasury Dept study on income mobility. They took a look at the tax returns of people over 25 years old in 1996, and the same people again in 2005. They measured their income group by quintiles, and converted all income into 2005 dollars to factor in inflation.

Here's what the study found:
The poorest 20% had their "real median income" go up by 90% from 1996.. The middle 20% (middle class) had their real median income go up by 23%. The richest 1% had their real median income decrease by 25%.

How can this be? I thought the liberals and mainstream media were telling us the poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer? Could they have been wrong?

And please don't blame this on inflation, as I have mentioned, inflation has already been factored in and we are discussing REAL GAINS and LOSSES.

I'm not for this but is it illegal to write fiction sex stories involving children? If it is, isn't that against the Constitution to stop freedom of the press? cause i read this fanfic involving some kids & I was not sure if I should've flagged it.

There is a company that I know has been hiring hourly part-timers like crazy and offering no benefits. And yet they are terminating all the salaried employees, claiming there is not enough work for them all. Is there any recourse? It's a performance-based job (probably "at will," though I'm not positive), so there is always the "not working up to expectation" out for the employer.

Bush and the Republican Presidential candidates always promise 'tax cuts'.
But please look at this:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071113/ap_on_go_co/war_costs

And let's ask them who the hell is going to pay for this?
And how?

Democrats, on the other hand, realise that 'somebody' has to pay the piper. Hence 'tax increases' in the future.
It's called 'living in the real world'
And this bullsh*t story that 'the economy will grow us out of the deficit' also seems to be 'pie-in-the-sky', doesn't it?
Opinions?

My sister & I owned a house together. I've been living here for more then 15 years. I trusted her. However, on the night before I was supposed to leave for Japan, she told me that we needed to refinance the house and took me to a place to sign papers. I was trusted her so I signed them without reading them carefully. She completely caught me off guard because I was such in a hurry to leave and and now the house is under HER name. The house is a duplex and she just moved in recently. I've been paying the mortgage here for more then 15 years and she hasn't contributed to one dime. No she's trying to tell me I need to pay rent!!! I want to know, what are my rights? Can I take any type of legal action against her? Or is there nothing I can do because I signed the papers and in front of a witness? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.

Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????

religion, or lack of aside, to me the Pledge of Allegiance is to dedicate yourself to your country and all of the people, and if he choses not to dedicate himself to us they why should we show him any loyalty? It is a matter of honor, not religion!! A man who has no loyalty to his country should not be in office!!!!!!! You pledge Alegiance to the flag of the united states first, religion is a secondary issue. The flag represents freedom in a country where a s s holes like him can run for office. If he can

at the same time? I am asking because my friend just joined the US Army Reserves. He was active duty a few years ago, 4 years active duty as an 11B(infantry), and honorably discharged as an E5. Now he is a full time student and is collecting money monthly from his GI Bill. I think, about $1000 or so per month, I am not sure about the exact amount, somewhere around that amount.

But someone told him that as a reservist, he can get Tuition Assistance(TA). But he is not too sure, if he can get both GI Bill and TA at the same time.

Any one knows? He doesn't start drilling yet till next week, so he hasn't contacted his unit about this matter.

Any information you offer is greatly appreciated. If you don't know, please don't answer and just pretend you never read this. Thank you!

What are the casualty figures for U.S. civilians - not soldiers or others in official capacities - during World War II? It's easy finding numbers for soldier deaths and wounded, but I'm stuck when it comes to civilian figures. I know there were a number of civilian deaths at Pearl Harbor. Probably others in Asia. Don't know about Germany/Italy. Any help?

Mother was in US (Illinois) on temporary work visa and met Father, also a foreign national but permanent (?) legal resident. (They are not citizens of the same country.) They dated but never married, and had a child who was born in Illinois.

When Mother went back to her home country, she took the child with her but Father stayed in IL, promising to support child by sending money to Mother in her home country. Father sent payments the first several months and even went to visit once, where he took Mother and child shopping for necessities.

Then, Father apparently found a girlfriend in IL and stopped sending payments. It's been over a year and Mother has continued to ask him to send money. Mother and child struggle even to buy bare necessities.

Does Illinois or U.S. law allow Mother to collect child support payments from Father?

(Any citations of US or IL law would be extremely helpful.)

Spanish and Latin are languages from Spain and Italy. Latin has been the language the Christian Bible probably since Roman Emperor Constantine formed the Christian Bible. Native Americans are NOT European white.

However, Aliens are from outerspace and as scary as anything illegal.

Freetrade increased people to moving to the US (National Geographics 2007). It was suppost to help people in other countries but in many cases is slave labor for rich whites. 13 year olds work 16 hour days, 7 days a week for pennies (Source: Walmart: the high cost of low prices).
