look at the pic first
Respect
Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.
Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????
religion, or lack of aside, to me the Pledge of Allegiance is to dedicate yourself to your country and all of the people, and if he choses not to dedicate himself to us they why should we show him any loyalty? It is a matter of honor, not religion!! A man who has no loyalty to his country should not be in office!!!!!!! You pledge Alegiance to the flag of the united states first, religion is a secondary issue. The flag represents freedom in a country where a s s holes like him can run for office. If he can

OK, now that the link works... Several sources have said that Obama actually had his hand over his heart for the Pledge, just not the Anthem. The fact that he didn't have his hand over his heart during the anthem, but respectively placed by his side honestly doesn't bother me much. Just because he didn't have his hand over his heart during the anthem doesn't mean he doesn't love his country in my opinion. It all seems like a large fuss over nothing.

Sorry, but it's a complete fabrication. The photo was taken while the National Anthem was being played by a band at a BBQ, not during a recital of the pledge of allegiance.
The first link below shows numerous photos of Obama with his hand over his heart during the anthem at various events.
The second link, by the way, shows the whole video - the person who started this chain email just snagged a single shot from it to attack Barama.
Incidentally, Clinton, Richardson, and Harkin are breaking the rules in the picture. You're supposed to FACE the flag, with your hand over your heart. Those three, like Obama and all other typical attention grabbing politicians everywhere have their backs to the flag and are instead facing something FAR more important..... the photographers.
(Incidentally, I have no time for any of those multi-millionaire liberal socialists - but let's hate them for what they ARE, not because of some made up viral email attack)

First, did he REFUSE? Or did he just not do it?
Second, was it the National Anthem? Or the Pledge of Allegiance?
Not everyone knows how to act when the National Anthem is played, nor when they are asked to take part in the Pledge of Alliance.
This is partly due to the fact that such activities have not been allowed in most public schools for many years. If you were never taught how to do something as a child, you cannot be expected to know how later.
So, don't judge Obama based on this one incident. Also don't applaud the others for doing what appeared to be a patriotic act. Who knows what they were thinking while waiting for the ceremony to end.
Remember: What you actually believe is more important than what you appear to believe. And politicians are notorious for appearing to do the right thing and believing the opposite.

Assuming what you say is true, I agree. If you won't recite the pledge of allegiance (and remaining silent during the "under god" part is fine with me) then that is your choice. But if you choose that while running for president, then you are not qualified to be president. Period.
I will not vote for him because I do not agree with the Muslim concept of religion first, everything else (including country) second. I feel the President of the United States must put the country first or choose not to run for presidency.
This religious accomodation stuff is getting ridiculous. Religion needs to stay out of schools and workplaces. If you can't separate your religious life from your work/school life, that makes you very dangerous indeed.

I don't put my hand over my heart either because there is NOT liberty and justice for all.
And so what if his middle name is Hussein? How immature can you be? GROW UP! I suppose if mine was Mary that must imply I am a prostitute, huh?
The crazy thing is, it WAS on his heart during the pledge...just not during the anthem......and no matter what you see people do while watching NASCAR, that is tradition in the USA.
Please just vote for who you want and quit ranting!

Honestly, I 100% agree with you! I believe people are forgetting what our country was built on...respect, integrity, morals, and honors. The true reason for allegiance to the Flag is the 'republic for which it stands.' ...And what does that vast thing, the Republic mean? It is the concise political word for the Nation - the One Nation which the Civil War was fought to prove. To make that One Nation idea clear, we must specify that it is indivisible, as Webster and Lincoln used to repeat in their great speeches. And its future? It is people like this that make it have no future....come on people...dont forget what we built this nation on.

He put his hand over his heart during the pledge, and took it off during the Anthem, as traditional. The photo of him with his hand not over his heart was snapped during the anthem. Obama has addressed this repeatedly in the news.

He's appreciating his freedom by chosing to practice his religion. Back off and let him believe in what he believes in. It's not any concern of yours and it wouldn't make him any less of a good commander. People like you are far too close minded and skip over the real issues of electing a president.

Yes a picture is worth a thousand words
But it doesn't tell everything.
Therefore, where is the link that supports everything you say?
For instance, it is easy to find pictures that make Bush look like a monkey -- which doesn't mean he is one. (on further review........)))))
Peace
