He didn't see any of Frenchman in France fighting for their freedom.

And, the French were betraying the Americans by telling the Germans where Americans were during the next month after Americans landed in Normandy.

Anyone surprised? What does this say about the French?

"Amid mounting media pressure and speculation throughout England, Yale officials have confirmed that Euan Blair -- the son of British Prime Minister Tony Blair -- will indeed be making the move this fall from 10 Downing Street to New Haven....Blair's admittance to Yale's graduate school has been a subject of interest in Great Britain since it was published that Blair, 22, was admitted to top-rated programs at both Harvard and Yale despite having received average grades at Bristol University and experiencing a much-publicized run-in with the law." ...

I have asked a couple of questions about the Liberal Labor debate, obviously there are some very strong opinions and many in favour of Labor but so far not one answer has any substance. I have had lots of comments like, Howard is a liar, Howard caused interest rate rises, Howard doesn't care about workers Rudd will look after the workers, blah blah blah, Just exactly what policy says that? I am very open minded so can someone tell me exactly how they would benefit with Labor compared to Liberal and what particular Labor policy they are referring to. Please no answers like, "Labor look after workers" and that sort of crap. If you really know you will be better off with Labor then tell me what policy, I would like to read it I am genuinely interested but please dont just quote "Changing the IR laws" that will not automatically make you better off

I saw this case on CNN and will run through the facts of the case.

A man and a woman are dating.

The man tells the woman that he absolutely does NOT want children.

The woman, knowing she was able to have children, told the man that she was infertile, AND that she was on the pill for regulation purposes and thus there were no worries

A month after the couple breaks up, the woman tells the man that she is pregnant and is keeping it.

The man tells the woman that he does not want to have a child, and would rather her not keep it.

The woman sues the man for child support.

The case is pending, no decision has been ruled yet. What is your opinion on the case?

Shouldn't our "generational mission" be something along the lines of stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS or hunger throughout the world? Instead, Algore is raking in HUGE profits from carbon credits..Wal Mart the latest idiots to buy into this.

Algore writes that we have a generational mission to save our planet. Yet in Bjorn Lomborg's new book "Cool it" the skeptical enviromentalist's guide to global warming,Lomborg systematically dismantles Gore’s argument that carbon dioxide (CO2) is the biggest threat facing mankind, and that humanity must focus all our attention on fighting it.
Let’s begin with Gore’s “generational mission.” Why is it that virtually none of the thousands of generations of humans that have come and gone have had a “mission?” Well, it’s because we’re one of the first generations that hasn’t had to worry about our day-to-day survival. From the dawn of time right up into the 20th century, many if not most people lived in fear of starvation.

On "Have I Got News for you" on bbc1, i've heard comments insulting the Government, muslims, USA, the Pri-minister, the President and even racist remarks and they haven't been done once for it but yet if something like that happens on Channel 4, Big Brother for example the press is there right away and it's not long before the police and that are involved and the odd thing is the BBC is actually a government owned set of channels and seems to be the only channels getting away with this.
Could this be because of the government owning the BBC?

African-Americans, who joined the all-volunteer force in disproportional numbers for years, have cooled on military service recently. So have Hispanics.
Except among those who sign up, duty to country isn't an important value, according to Defense Department polls. The military is having a tough time enlisting new people.

Not so sure about enlisting.
THURMONT, Md. — The Army is struggling to find volunteers for an unpopular war, despite recruiting bonuses of up to $20,000 and pay increases for enlistees that have beaten inflation by 21 percent since 2000. Enlisting in the military is not important for many young people.

I work for a large university. Our section is an off campus site. We recently got a new supervisor who is big buddies with one of the women here. The new supervisor promise this woman and another a pay grade raise. She couldn't pull it off, I suppose the people over her said no due to budget. So, supervisor told them not to count off their lunches and if they needed to leave early etc go ahead but still put down 40 hours a week.

Basically we're talking minumum of ten hours per month per person of falsified time or more (more often more, ie 25 hours worked, 40 put down) It's causing tension because we are only 13 employees and everyone knows but no one knows what to do.

If someone has a TS/SCI Security Clearance and has had it for apx.19-20 yes, is planning to get married, and the person whom they are getting married to had gotten in some trouble in the past, it had been a few years, but it was legal. Not like felonies, but worse than speeding, would the person with that clearance lose it? If more details are needed, I can give them, to an extent.

Well, look at the history of the United States. Not one of our founders, not even Alexander Hamilton, desired to have the federal government engaging in things like a ponzi scheme that is supposedly an insurance program (what is commonly known as Social Security) or having the federal government control public school curriculum from the Department of Education. Programs like these are blatantly in violation of the Constitution, but are explained away by the nonsense of a "living, breathing Constitution" (which Britain does have and which the Founders clearly did not intend America to have, as they revolted in opposition to that very type of Constitution).

As the history of the United States shows that government will inevitably grow to massive sizes, does this make limited government utopian? If so, then shouldn't everybody be an anarchist so that we don't end up living under somebody like Hitler or Stalin at some point in the future?
