While I understand there may be seasons designated for duck hunting, I don't see why that should apply to me. I have no intention of hunting them. I just want to shoot them They get in the pool and crap all over the place.

Make it look like an accident.
"Sorry, officer, I was cleaning my shotgun, when this flock of ducks flew overhead, and somehow the gun went off, and, well, what can I say. It's a tragedy, 42 of them..."

It may be just an inconvenience to others if you shoot ducks that land in your pool. It could be quite a shock to the neighbours to hear a gun shot. Police would be called out and there would be a whole bunch of trouble. It's probably not the duck hunting laws, as such, but the fire arm laws.

Do you live in the countryside where it would be legal to discharge a firearm?

How about putting a cover on your pool? I would think shooting them would add to the crap you'd have to clean up.

When I used to live in the mountains in California, I couldn't shoot a deer without a deer tag or out of season, even if they came into my vegetable garden and made mince meat out of it. Nor could I do that to a human being, unless they broke into my home. If a deer came into my home, I suppose I could get away with it. Probably not a duck though. They aren't dangerous. But at least I could cook it.

Peace

Jim

Put up a sign that says, 'No Ducks Allowed" . Make sure that you put it up high 'nuff into the air so they can see it as they fly by for a landing.

It depends where you are at. Some places you might be able to get a nuisance permit to shoot them. However, most cities won't let you shoot firearms in city limits. Get a pellet gun or something.

Don't have an answer for you but I agree with you totally... I am about tired of skimming feathers and crap out of my pool.

because they are innocent for the fact, that you build a pool on their land - be glad, if they don`t shoot you for that

You are Satan. You can't kill animals just because they mildly inconvienience you - they have every right to live in peace.

Although if you are going to kill them to eat them, that's all right I suppose. But eat every last bit!
