Beside differences on the major issues of today
This punch line sums it up

Al Gore, Bill and Hillary Clinton all die on the same day, and head for judgment. God addresses Al first. "Al, what do you believe in?"
Al replies: "Well, I believe that I won that election, but that it was Your will that I did not serve. And I've come to understand that now." God thinks for a second and says: "Very good. Come and sit at my left."

God then addresses Bill. "Bill, what do you believe in?"
Bill replies: "I believe in forgiveness. I've sinned but I've never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me." God thinks for a second and says: "You are forgiven, my son. Come and Sit at my right."

Then God addresses Hillary. "Hillary, what do you believe in?"
She replies: "I believe you're in my chair."

Just to make sure you know I'm talking about the AUSTRALIAN election here. As I understand it, there will also be a half Senate election. If the coalition has the majority already, isn't it most likely that they'll maintain control of the Senate afterwards or would we need a huge loss of seats for that to happen? It's late and I'm tired so perhaps I'm not thinking straight but no-one seems to have mentioned that in the campaign.

"Frankly, I don't understand why so many mock us for wanting a future for Iraq. Is your hatred for George Bush so great that you prefer to see millions of civilians suffer just to prove him wrong?"

"It really comes down to this: you are determined to see Iraq become a permanent hellhole because you hate Bush. And we are determined to see Iraq become a success, because we want to live"

Since the US and the "coalition of the willing" are engaging in a war on terrorism, and the fact that the US congress has recently declared the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, I think its important to ask "Just what is terrorism?".

Also, are the following situations examples of acts of terrorism? yes or no:
1) A suicide bomber attacks a group of soldiers.
2) A missile is launched into an apartment building to send a message to the government.
3) A man holds several innocent people hostage to have political prisoners released.
4) A group of Sunnis bomb a Shiite mosque.
5) A group of individuals hijack a plane to escape the country.
6) A government financially supports a military group who kills its ideological opponents to send a message to the opposition.
7) A government threatens to destroy a nations water supply if they don't comply with their demands.

Here in the USA us Republicans and Democrats can't seem to agree on ANY issue, not a single one as far as I can see. A member of one party could say "It's a beautiful day" and a member of the other party would say "It looks a little cloudy to me" just to disagree. How is it in your country? Do the two(or more) political parties have the same take on at ONE issue? Personally I'm sick and tired of it. Can't we find some common ground here folks?????????

About a year ago here in the UK, Burger King ran a promotion where one could win various prizes from a scratchcard they distributed with Whopper Burgers. Promotional materials said 'No Purchase Necessary' and so I visited one branch and asked for a No Purchase Necessary entry, but the Manager refused and told me to leave, saying that he would only give me a scratchcard if I purchased a burger. I pointed out that it said clearly on the advertising in the restaurant that it was a No Purchase necessary competition. But he said he didn't care. Was this illegal and what should I have done??

When we bought our house years ago, our impression was that our loan would be limited to no more than 28% of our gross income each month. I thought it was the law or an industry standard.

Under Bush and over the past handful of years, sub-prime loans were made to people when lenders probably felt certain that the borrower could NOT repay the loan.

Did Republicans ruin their image for failing to protect consumers?

The Democrat-led House just passed a bill designed to protect consumers. The lenders will have to access whether or not the family will be able to repay the loan. Didn't Bush and the Republicans believe it was good to protect consumers?
