Here in the USA us Republicans and Democrats can't seem to agree on ANY issue, not a single one as far as I can see. A member of one party could say "It's a beautiful day" and a member of the other party would say "It looks a little cloudy to me" just to disagree. How is it in your country? Do the two(or more) political parties have the same take on at ONE issue? Personally I'm sick and tired of it. Can't we find some common ground here folks?????????

In India we have many many many political parties... but untill recently there were 2 major groups .. one's called United Progressive Alliance (UPA) - which is in the majority in the lower house or LOKSABHA in India, and is a coalition between many regional parties , but the major player is the Indian National Congress .. led by Sonia Gandhi ( the italian born Indian!! i hope you've heard bout her) it was created for just one single objective--- to last a full term of 5 years and once the elections approach they wouldn't find it pleasing untill they publicly ABUSE each other of malpractice and dishonesty and cut each others guts!! ( nothing new , huh?!!) then we have NDA - National Democratic Alliance -key player BJP -or Bharity Janta Party ( sounds funny right -- party et all!!) rightist and always plays a Hindutva ( hinduism) card!! and to top it all we now have a third alliance UNPA ( its United National Progressive Alliance) breakaway groups from these major political parties like the leftist or communists ( yeah , we've 2 states run by communists in a democratic india!! .... that's why they say -- it happens only in india!!) and many other small regional parties .. but they have one, no two common goals--- 1,to stay in power, 2.. stay united when it comes to the nations so called enemies ( especially against pakistan !!)
and as far as finding common ground is concerned.. i hope they don't .. i just hope that it continues .. .. because you can ALWAYS bid them against each other !! anyways they are hopeless ( universally!!) but it'd be BAAAAAAD having them to agree more and become one.. not a worse disaster i say!!

I am a right wing libertarian type Republican and I can truly say that it would not be a good thing if the Republicans and Democrats agree on anything outside of national security..

When the Dems and Reps get cozy we get NAFTA and the Panama Canal Treaty.

When they find common ground it seems like they are banding together to screw the American public.

There is hope. In the House of Representatives approximately 40 Democrats and 40 Republicans have signed onto the SAVE act, which deals only with border security. Right now, Senators are looking on in disbelief.

You can read up on the SAVE act at NumbersUSA.

All but 4 Dems in the Senate voted to worship Bush and renew the Patriot Act a few years ago.

So, yes, we do agree from time to time.

Both parties did a lot of agreeing after 9/11. It typically takes such a crisis to make each side come together.
