I saw this case on CNN and will run through the facts of the case.
A man and a woman are dating.
The man tells the woman that he absolutely does NOT want children.
The woman, knowing she was able to have children, told the man that she was infertile, AND that she was on the pill for regulation purposes and thus there were no worries
A month after the couple breaks up, the woman tells the man that she is pregnant and is keeping it.
The man tells the woman that he does not want to have a child, and would rather her not keep it.
The woman sues the man for child support.
The case is pending, no decision has been ruled yet. What is your opinion on the case?

She was wrong in deceiving him but he could practise safe sex and use rubbers if he doesn't want children. Alternatively if he never wants children he could have a Vasectomy. He is 50% responsible for this conception and should pay child support.

He should have been smarter and asked more in depth questions concerning her being infertile and on the pill. If she is infertile why would she need the pill???
And it takes two to tango women lie about being on birth control ALL the time so men should make sure, especially if they don't kids, that they also do their part whether she is on the pill or not.
A condom would have probably solved the issue. She's the one who has to prove he's the father, not him. But if it is his child he will have to pay child support, not matter what.
It will cost her a pretty penny to prove he's the father.

If he fathered a child, he is responsible to support it regardless of what was said prior to their having sex. He should have a paternity test done to determine whether it is his child. However, a man is responsible for child support. Child support matters are never a matter of "he said, she said." The interest of the government is in having the child supported by his father.
It is almost like china shop rules -- "You break it, you pay for it." Yup, you get a woman pregnant, and you pay for it.

I had something like that to me. "Oh, I can't get pregnant." (Supposedly she took those BC shots that last for months at a time.) Lo and behold, she got pregnant. My first inclination was not to have the baby because I didn't want a life-long relationship with this person. However, you can't force someone to abort.
Seven years later, I love my daughter as much as anyone and, while I am not with her mother, we see each other regularly.
Yes, I pay child support.

Wow, that is a good one, even though the woman had her own agenda by trying to get pregnant, if the man did not want any kids, he should have used protection or the pull out method. Unfortunately, yes he should because he can't go spray his stuff and not pay for it. She got him good! Poor dude!

If the woman can prove paternity she can force him to pay support for the child. At least this is the case in Illinois.

if you play, you pay. If he is proved to be the father, then no court in the country will let him off the hook.

He does not have to pay child support. If he does not want kids, he can simply sign away his rights and not pay one cent.
But if he wants to know the child and be in it's life, then YES, he'll have to pay child support.
Cheers
