Many Bush haters make this claim, but fail to provide any credible evidence to support it.

DSTR:---It's my opinion that G.W. spent much of his youth in Texas, where young men don't dare go around sounding like a sissified intellectual son of a high ranking Government official.---His home-boy manner of speaking is probably a somewhat deliberate habit.
When you come from a long line of intellectuals, you have nothing to prove, and you wont spend too much energy trying to impress ordinary people like yourself.
However, I'm curious about your standards for "credible evidence".

DIZZ:----So , therefore, you have no evidence?
You simply believe whatever you WANT to believe?
Shame on you for your willingness to smear an intire family of good Americans on make-believe evidence.
What does this say about your politics and your own character?

I did not buy into the swift boat stories, but I have no Idea if they are really true, and neither do you.
I don't recall any rumors about Hilary that influenced me .
I supported Bill when he was our President, but I was disgusted with all the scandals that always seemed to be about his sex life, and the answers he gave when he was questioned.
I suspect your "deductive reasoning" alows you to deduce whatever fits your agenda, and is not what most would call "credible evidence".

TRIBECA:---Yes it sounds reasonable that Bush Sr. may have influenced his son's admission.
However, I have too much respect for the integrity of Yale and Harvard professors to believe that there was not a single whistle-blower amongst all those learned people.
Surely they would not all conspire to give him passing grades through all those years.

MARVINSU:---I have no problem believing that there was, indeed, some political hanky-panky involved in George Sr. helping his son cut corners, but my argument would be with those who are willing to dismiss G.W.s entire education as a fraud.
I know from past experience, that you are a fair-minded person, and I'm betting that you're not willing to make such a leap to prove a political point.

I understand that the poor progress in Iraq is a legitimate cause for anxiety, and loss of faith in Bush's leadership.
However, it helps our enemies when we overreact to what we perceive to be his mistakes, and exagerate his faults.
He had the highest popularity rate of any president in history at the start of the Iraq war, but he did not have the choice to jump ship like so many others when things went wrong;---and now many of those bug-outs are accusing him of all kinds of evil deeds.
If we were winning like hell in Iraq , you would probably never hear these charges of fraud and deception directed at him.

Many voters have become concerned about Bush's character, but I believe they should become a great deal more concerned about the integrity of his most vacal critics.

DSTR:---Were you impressed with John Kerry's speaking skills?
He seemed a bit pompous, and he often didn't seem to think before he spoke, yet I've heard no charges of fraud in his getting through Yale.

Of course you probably don't see that as a "mockery" of a college education.

Have you blocked out your memory of Bush holding his own, or winning all those political debates before being elected? Were all those nominees and candidates even worse at public speaking than G.W.?

It would be highly unusual for such a rich and prominent alumnus not to contribute to his alma mater but I think it is somewhat unfair to hold that against him or his son. It is, however, common knowledge that children of alumni have received special consideration in admissions in the past.

I don’t think that G W Bush’s education was in any way deficient or necessarily based on favoritism but I think that his current mental deficiencies are probably due to his subsequent alcohol and substance abuse.

There won't be any fingerprints on the career of GWB but, if you Google it, there is a bit ot anecdotal evidence to be found in the pages of Vanity Fair. The story, told by one of the Maine seaside neighbors, has the youngest daughter of the Bush family coming over to look up a word in their dictionary for homework! How many Harvard students came out of a home like that of Barbara Bush?

Briberies like that never have a paper trail...

EDIT; Of course I have no evidence. I do have deductive reasoning though (see dstr's answer above). You can try to shame me if you like. I'm guessing you bought the swift boating of Kerry without evidence though. And how about all the Hillary rumors? Do you buy into those?

It has to be valid, listen to Jr. speak.
What other possible reason could there be?

If its not obvious to you that his degree is a mockery of a Harvard, Yale , or even a community college education, I don't know what is.
