You need to file the form I-539 Application to Extend/Change of Nonimmigrant Status. The filing fee is $300.00 and you apply with the supporting documents such as original I-94 Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant student) to prove that you are admitted in the academic school in US. Also the proof of you ability to pay tuition and living expenses, such as bank account.
Go to USCIS website and click on Immigration Forms then Application to Extend/Change of status. Good luck!
