You can't say it's because they can't. If they speek out off duty and in civilian clothes there is nothing the military can do. The only exception are high profile soldiers like Generals. Also, former soldiers have absolutly nothing to worry about if they speek out. It doesn't seem the soldiers who have been to Iraq are agianst the mission.

Considering I live in the Philadelphia area I do have to question if the death penalty actually works. In the past couple months 4 police officers have been shot and one killed. It doesn't seem to be a deterrent. Also the costs of executing someone are much more than locking them up and throwing away the key.

If you want to be a GOOD Democrat, you must have certain basic beliefs:

1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by yuppies driving SUVs.

6. You have to be against capital punishment (putting murderers to death) but support abortion (killing innocent unborn babies) on demand (federally funded of course.)

7. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and that governments and unions create prosperity.

To Hillary this election has nothing to do with how she can help out the country. It`s all about power Clinton need the power to live. I think if she is not the democratic nominee she will quit at senator of NY and say if I am not fit to be your president I`m not good enough to be your senator.Like I said it is all about her...

... give such people as intensive treatment as Americans do?

I've heard that elderly people in those countries are denied access to treatment in many cases because those countries figure that it's "too expensive" to spend vast sums of money on an older person who is likely to live only a few years longer.

Any truth or evidence?

Separation of powers?
Hi, can you please help me; I've got an essay to write. It’s composed of 3 parts: introduction, argumentation and conclusion (french college system). Now, in the introduction, I have to announce my argumentation which has to be composed of 2 parts. What do you think should be my 2 parts? They actually depend on the question I have to write in the introduction which is like a guide, and the essay is to give an answer to that question. What do you think should be my question (problematique)?
As you have already seen, my subject is: separation of powers...
Thanks!

I am so annoyed. In July i cancelled all my direct debits, due to money missing out of my account. It was only last week that i found out my tv liscense had been stopped to.
But as sods law would have it they came to my house todays and boy i was in for a shock. They have informed me i could have a thousand pound fine, cautioned me, asked stupid questions and made me feel like a criminal , all though i have had tv liscnce for ten straight years previous and never ever broke the law in my life. I am so up set and annoyed and will be writing a letter for what it is worth. As i know too many people who have massive fines, but irony is when your neighbors son breaks in to some house, steals thousand of pounds worth of property , get suspended sentence of a month and fifty pound fine, Sense i do not under stand.
Is this is what the world is coming too??

...still say he's a second tier candidate & will never win because nobody knows him? From what I'm reading/hearing it sounds like the nay sayers, or at least a FAIR amount of them are the less "fortunate" amongst our society. Might these nay sayers be frightened that a Paul administration might "touch off" their statusy lil "entitlement" checks? I mean theres a lot of chronic drunks/druggies out there that look forwards once a month to that SSI disability check so they can keep "indulging". Then there's the folks that have been diagnosed with ERGOPHOBIA, or the fear of work that qualifies them for SSI benefits as it is classified as a true medical disorder. Sounds to me like there's just a lot of American's that like "dinging the pooch" & want a free ride at the productive folks expense! What's your take on the nay sayers?

acknowledge even this simple fact.

Why do you suppose that is:

1 - it doesn't conform to their world view so it can't be so?
2 - it would mean saying George Bush was right and they'll never go there?
3 - after all the caterwauling about "We can't win!", "It costs too much!", "It's all about the oil!", and on and on, agreeing even remotely that anything is going right over there will bring up too much (more) bile?
4 - simple lack of maturity regardless of their chronological age?
5 - too many years being brought up in environments where they're never wrong (read: mommy never uttered the word "No", coaches declared that all competitors were "winners", and teachers told all students that their work was created equal)?

Feel free to offer your own suggestions.

Whatever the reason, it's remarkable that these characters expect (yes, expect, not want) to be taken seriously on such a serious matter as war.

First of all,
Thank You all for your sacrafice for America. Whether you are a dem, lib, con, rep, ind., etc, I want to thank you.
Second, do you find it disgraceful, like I do, that we have "Veteran's Day Sales", or other ways to trivialize holidays by having a 20% off sale?
This is how America honors its heroes??
Or am I just overreacting???

Thank You, Again!

Liberals are perennially enraged that Republicans are allowed to talk back. For years, this wasn't a problem, because, in Lenin's immortal words, they had seized the telegraph office. There were only three TV stations, three major newspapers, and a handful of national magazines, all run by liberals. But at least since Rush Limbaugh got a microphone, liberals haven't been able to make arguments in a vacuum.
