You can't say it's because they can't. If they speek out off duty and in civilian clothes there is nothing the military can do. The only exception are high profile soldiers like Generals. Also, former soldiers have absolutly nothing to worry about if they speek out. It doesn't seem the soldiers who have been to Iraq are agianst the mission.

Complaining about the military is not the same as being opposed to the mission. I served when we weren't at war and everyone was constantly complaining (1991-93). I'm still planning my book exposing the army.

First off it's speak, not speek!
There are some that have spoke out against the war. Active duty personal can be punished for speaking out against the war. Post duty do not fall under the UCMJ (Uniformed Code of Military Justice)

I know a few who returned from Iraq and are opposed to the mission. I am sure more exist, but I can only speak for those that I know personally.

the reality is that the overewhelming majority actually support the mission. Most who dont are reservists who wrongly believed they couldnt be called up but everyone of us who signed up for the guard or reserve knew that deployment was possible

In my area all the military people are against the war. On camera they say they are for the war. Off camera they tell the truth.

You are mistaken if you think soldiers can speak out if they are off duty and in civilian clothes - ever hear of fragging?
Still, some are brave enough to speak and you can find their stories if you take off your blinders and look for them.
Such as here:
http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/42272/
And as appropriate on Veterans Day, US vets have also spoken out:
http://www.vaiw.org/vet/index.php
http://www.ivaw.org/faq
To $C-Note$ above: Thank you, sir, for your service to our country. You stood up for us and I hope our country does not let you down.

I lived on an army base for a couple years and the feeling I got from a lot of them was that they were doing what they needed to do to protect their country. My godfather was one of the first casualties and he was proud! He loved what he did.

you must not know much about the military because if you are in the military the can tell you what you can and can't do even if in your civi's. they can tell you what places you are allowed to go to and not
but all i can say is IF YOU DON"T LIKE THE WAR OR THE MILITARY THEN DON"T JOIN AND DON'T ASK THEM TO PAY FOR YOUR SCHOOL.
our men who joined to protect and serve will NEVER speak out on it.
so if you don't like it protest THE MEN IN UNIFORM GIVE YOU THAT RIGHT

Watch adult Millhouse on MSNBC. His show is the only venue where I've seen the two soldiers you're talking about.
