Would you rather see the republican party become more moderate? Like the direction it is headed in now.

Or

Would you rather see it get back to it's conservative principles?

Here's how I see it. The republican strategists believe the party needs to be more moderate. Where our republican politicians rarely take a stand against the democrats on many issues. Like alarmist environmental issues, wasteful and out of control education spending, spending on and expansion of social entitlement programs, or mass transit and so called smart growth city development (urban development). The moderate republicans rarely make a stand for fear they may push away voters, so they just bend over and take it. Yet, in doing this, they are creating a real disconnect with their conservative base. If the republican party doesn't get back to it's conservative principles, I think we're going to see a lot of republicans leaving the party. Either joining the libertarian or constitution party.

Ok, my brother got caught yesterday stealing a tester bottle of cologne from macys. When he walked out of the store, he said that a guy with a cop badge stopped him and asked him for the merchandise. The guy said he would let him go and not to do it ever again. My bro(who was being very compliant with the officer) is scared that the guy was just saying that, and that he might look at the parking lot cameras and get his cars liscense plates and turn him in and we maybe get a ticket in the mail or something? do you guys think it will happen? hes so scared because hes 18 and he could go to jail.

I got an e-mail with a picture of Obama, Clinton, and some other big shots standing in a row, with everyone's hand over their heart except Obama. They said Obama refused to salute the flag or say the pledge. I think the picture was doctored or taken out of context. I mean, what kind of an IDIOT would run for president and not salute the flag?

I don't want your opinion on whether or not to salute the flag, I just want to know if anyone has proof that this is true.
ONLY answer if you are 99% sure or have a reliable source saying whether or not this is true.

If our government planned the attacks in order to make us afraid so they could use our fear to go to war, which would allow them to pursue their own interests... then why just a one day attack? Why wouldn't they have planned more attacks in other places to scare us even more?

The top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of income taxes.

So where does the line of reasoning come from that says the rich aren't taxed enough and the burden falls on the poor and middle class ect...?

I'm not trying to be a smart ***, I just want to hear the arguments from the other side and see if they hold water or not.

OK, so we read on here all the time about illegal immigration. Me personally I am adamantly opposed to it.

I just read another posting on it where you hear the can't we all just love eachother, don't they deserve an opportunity, almost all Americans families were immigrants at one time hubub that goes around.

The reality is that the impact of ILLEGAL immigration is huge and I would like to see some true discussion on what the impact is with some supportive facts. Either for or against it. But please remember that I am talking about ILLEGAL Immigration.

For example in the state of OK, they just adopted HB1804 which now takes away priviledges etc that illegals did have. Some of these I wasn't even aware of...
1) Illegal immigrants can no longer recieve college financial assistance unless they can prove that they intend to apply to become legal.
2) Oklahoma will no longer give out drivers licenses to illegals (why did we to begin with?)

This guy has been stalking me, harassing me, and has recently threatened to kill me if I stop talking to him. He tells me I need to have sex with him and give him adderall (I have a prescription) or else he will "destroy my life." However, all of these threats have been made on the internet. He has not ever called me, only through facebook/myspace/AIM. I am going to the police tomorrow with the print outs of these internet conversations? Would they take me seriously if I had these conversations? If I filed charges against him would I not have a chance in hell since these print outs may not be admissable. Also, he is in the military. Could I make a separate complaint to the military? All I want is justice. He said some hateful and degrading things to me, describing vividly how he wants to have sex with me.....I was justice. If this is not harassment I don't know what is.....The problem is that I don't know if these print outs are enough. Please help!

This is a complex geo-political question. Many people have criticized our invasion in Iraq (including myself) but can not deny that Saddam was a miserable dictator. However, at the same time, the same group of people has urged the US to enter Darfur, Sudan and other war-stricken countries to help tame the violence. What are the responsibilities and obligations of the US (and other global superpowers) in terms of conflicts and inhumanities in foreign nations? Are we justified to enter other nations, no matter how cruel and inhumane it is??
