Freedom of speech is the cornerstone of government oversight by the People and it is under constant attack from within by demagogues and the avaricious alike often hand in hand. Greed and religion just seem to have some sort of correlation bearing further critical review. Remember religion and god are two different things

So, mother has POA for grandmother, and grandmother has been declared legally incompetent. What happens to grandmother if mother passes? Will next of kin automatically be responsible for her? Or will she be sent to state care?

Can mother address this in her will? Does this matter?

If so, have any US casualties been reported from such a terrorist act [post 9/11]?

If not, why has no terrorist attack on US Soil happened post 9/11?

Note: it seems to me a single misguided person could do great damage at ANY populated area in the US [mall, office bld, concert, etc] It took the US Gov. alsmost 1 month to catch the DC area sniper a few yrs back...

Last, what civil rights are / have been taken away by the US Gov., to date in the name of home land security and anti terrorism? Wire taps, imprisonment w/o charges, video cameras at intersections, etc?

According to the CLSB, it's ok to contract home improvement if $500. or less without a contractor's license, But if it's $501 it is now a misdemeanor, punishable with fines from $200-$15,000. The California state constitution says in Article 1 section 16 that: "....no law impairing the oblibation of contracts shall ever be passed." I say the whole thing is "color of law." If I make a contract with my neighbor to paint his house for $3000.00, that's between me and them. The state has no right to interfere WHAT-SO-EVER!!!!! Who agrees with me? Most of what we have come to know as "Law" is repugnant to the Constitution and is therefore null and void. (see Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. (2 Cranch) 137 (1803). We cannot assert our rights if we don't know what they are. It's time we stop living in fear of this thing called government.

Seriously, if I were ever arrested for a crime that I knew I was guilty of I would stay as silent as possible. What is it that makes criminals talk their heads off when questioned? What is so hard about keeping one's mouth shut?

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

seems a lot of you have a biased view of how the southwest was obtained. You say it wasnt stolen but did you look at who wrote that history. Our history says different and that back then this government was corrupt as you all say Mexico is. How does that make you feel? Like a hipocrit?

Lets say this officer not only keep their nose clean, but, was actually quite a capable officer with no warnings, demerits or whatever they get for problems. The evaluations were always 4.0 (perfect), and this officer would be up for advancement at the earliest possible time. Lets also say there are to be no meritorious advancements for heroic behavior, just a standard advancement. How many years before they are advanced to Lt. Commander? A web site would be good enough too that details this time frame. Not just which ranks go in order. I don't need the best worded answer just the soonest! I've got $5 that says I'm right! And my neighbor needs to lose! ha ha!!!

Ok, so here's the situation. I presently have a court case pending. The charge is theft over $500 and theft scheme over $500. I had a previous charge in 2004 for the same charges but, they were under $500. I received 18 months supervised and time served of 2.5 months. I know I'm reaching here, but does anyone have any idea of how much time I might be facing this time around. Mind you I didn't do what I am charged with this time. Any comment that may shed some light on my situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have read that the longer the grandparent-grandchild relationship, the more likely visitation to grandparent will be granted.

If I never let my parent know that I now have a child, will it go against me in court that the grandparent wasn't aware of the grandchild, and therefore was not responsible for trying to make contact or having a relationship?

I am completely alienated from one of my parents, we do not speak and actually I never even met or heard from him until I was 14. Do you think there is even a slight chance that he would be able to file for grandparent visitation rights?
