George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

Tabs said exactly what my response would have been. Not to mention Mr Kennedy also benefited from prohibition by making bootleg booze and selling it. Who really cares?

Prescott surely sympathized longer than others in the USA,
who used to praise Hitler as "Fortress against Communism".
Big business went on. GM, American Oil, IBM still had one
factory in Berlin when it was bombed already. All around.
Eventually the Congress barred that wishiwashi.
And yes, now really - about Black Jack Kennedy
there's really more than everything been published. lol
Even the Bank of England covered Nazi funds, and they
were paid off correctly all the time by Germany while people
were dying - with capitalists at a low rate only. Just besides.

That is totally lame. He owned stock in a company that made money via Nazi Germany, before Nazi Germany was an officially "bad" thing? If you can't think of anything better to trash GW Bush with, doesn't that tell you something?

OK Even if this is true, your point is? We can only be responsible for our own actions. The Libs of that time said Hitler was no threat to USA, so no reason to get involved. At least not until some of our merchant vessels were sunken by German U-Boats.
It can be said that one of my brother in laws is a POS meth and heroin addict. So what does that have to do with me?

You forgot to mention that George washington owned slaves. There were many more prominent leaders world wide who supported hitler and did not believe him to be a threat.

your right!

the sins of the father should always be passed down to the sons.

Under your thought process we are all guilty and should be sued and never allowed public office or any iota of power right?

Did the Guardian mention Ted Kennedy's father was a Hitler appeaser and that FDR fired him as Ambassador to Great Britain. Did they mention he bought Nazi stocks and was a notorious anti-semite (not to mention big time boot legger). Well, of course not, what was I thinking. The left always cover up for their own.
