As a nation I think we need to be responsible for people and families that have absolutely no place to live. I don't care what the story is.No one in this county should go to sleep under a newspaper on a park bench cold and hungry! NOBODY! It is inexcusable.

Due to the record number of homeless during the Reagan administration, most communities, either each city or one within the county, provided shelters for the homeless. That is also when Habitat for Humanity started. At that time, the homeless had to be referred to the shelters by law enforcement authorities. I'm not sure if it is still that way or not.

No you can't because the homeless have the right to be homeless and it is not the federals governments role to deal with it. With the holidays coming up, since you really want to help them, try volunteering at a soup kitchen or collect canned food for and clothes for them.

Sure. Go find a lawyer. They go for $ 200.00 an hour, and they want a couple thousand up front as a retainer and they don't guarantee anything . You're going to be sueing the federal govt, so the case could drag for years.
Have a couple million in the bank?

Oh naive one... do you even pay taxes yet?

Why should the federal government be responsible? You're saying we should make it mandatory for the taxpayers to provide food, shelter and medical care for everyone.

Why then should we work and pay taxes when someone else will house, feed, and clothe us?

I agree that there are things that we, as a caring society, can do but there is no easy answer for society's problems!

If you feel that sorry for them and want to do something, then donate time and/or money to the homeless instead of tying up the courts (and wasting tax payer dollars) with another frivolous law suit.
