I think more Americans should take World History, period. I'd also like to add that the average American's knowledge of geography is pathetic.

Look to be honest we need to learn our own history first. You would be very very surprised how little people know of it. As far as leaning Mexican History why? I mean sure Mexico has history yes but its of no acquaintance to us. War means the best country wins! America has in its history many wars, to keep the very freedom you are making fun of now! No country is perfect. No country has all the answers! But at least our country IS TRYING! You better hope that our history doesn't turn out like Mexicos my friend. Want to know about tyranny, murdering its own people to make them join an army. Let me say 1 last thing if i may. I sure as hell don't see many Americans running over the border to live in Mexico!!!! If it was and is so great why do you think they are coming here? It sure isn't because Mexico is so wonderful, i know i've been there and lived there. Just be happy your American! If your not maybe you should take a run over the border and buy a sombrero!!!

History seems to be open to interpretation, depending on who wrote it. I've got a news flash for you there chief, actually 2.
1) Pretty much every nation and there land belonged to somebody else at some point. It might not be nice, but thats how nations are formed and reformed. Yeah, parts of the southwest were originally controlled by Mexico. Then again, the US was taken from the Native people by the Europeans, and Mexico was taken from it's native people by the Spaniards. What are we supposed to do, withdraw and let the Mexicans run those parts of the country into the ground? Dude, get over it. It's done.
2) hipocrit=hypocrite. 2 words...SPELL CHECK.

I think Mexicans should take a course in Mexican History. They keep saying the Southwest was there, when they had no firm hold and it originally belongs to the Native Americans of that Area, Not the Aztecs, SPaniards, Mayans or other ethnic bases of the Mexican people. Thiese should not complain about things stolen from them!!!!
PS My family was forced out of Mexico at gun point, by a racist Mexican Army who burned down our property and stole everything we owned. Give back My families Heritage first, then start whining about all the other stuff.

I've seen some of the answers from the younger generation that has been brainwashed about Mexico's history. I feel sorry for them, because those of us who actually had history lessons when we went through school in our younger days already know the facts. Now we have to provide them with proper information, and links to correct what they have been so falsely taught. So no thanks on the offer or the suggestion. Our facts on history are fairly accurate.
I even know the right church organization that has kept more records than any other in the country. If I need to know more, I can just go there and spend an hour or so on their computer to go over those records. So I'm not interested, but thanks anyway.

If an American is taking World History then yes Mexican History could be covered.
If you sell something, can your grandchildren later come back and claim that the item that was sold is theirs? Isn't this the same issue here with California, Texas etc. Wasn't this land sold?

Everyone who's truly educated should know that the U.S. won the Meixcan War and Mexico then HANDED OVER the Southwest by signing a treaty that recognized the Southwest as U.S. territory.
So nobody 'stole' anything.

Then it is not about Americans taking a course in history, it's about learning Mexico version of what happened. Even is your version is true, why should we be hypocrites, we have nothing to do with the corrupt that happen then, or now. Mexico is still a wealthy country in national resources, so why are you blaming the USA for it's failure to provide for their people

Filipinos and Mexicans are definitely the most hardcore fans in boxing. They are nothing like the Americans and Europeans when it comes to boxing fanaticism. Pacquiao and Chavez are Gods in the Philippines and Mexico. @ Manuel Perez, the Philippines have a higher percentage of college graduates than the United States or Mexico. You think we are all peasants? FK u!

If you are so interested in Mexican history, then you might be interested in an event that happened a little closer to current events. . .it's called the Zimmerman letters. They were letters sent to Mexico by the Nazis during WW2. They were intercepted by the United States. The letters were plans for Mexico to invade the US, so that the US couldn't fight in Europe. Once the plot was discovered, Mexico quickly thought differently about invading. Thought you might be interested.

Nope. We know the facts. The treaty is there for you to read also. Not only that, Mexico was paid. How about Mexicans take a Constitutional Law or Criminal Law class...just for starters. Facts work much better than excuses. Until you educate yourself, no need to look beyond the mirror to see a hypocrite.
