OK, so we read on here all the time about illegal immigration. Me personally I am adamantly opposed to it.
I just read another posting on it where you hear the can't we all just love eachother, don't they deserve an opportunity, almost all Americans families were immigrants at one time hubub that goes around.
The reality is that the impact of ILLEGAL immigration is huge and I would like to see some true discussion on what the impact is with some supportive facts. Either for or against it. But please remember that I am talking about ILLEGAL Immigration.
For example in the state of OK, they just adopted HB1804 which now takes away priviledges etc that illegals did have. Some of these I wasn't even aware of...
1) Illegal immigrants can no longer recieve college financial assistance unless they can prove that they intend to apply to become legal.
2) Oklahoma will no longer give out drivers licenses to illegals (why did we to begin with?)

3) It denies them public benefits, ie food stamps housing assistance, medical assistance etc.
4) Requires local law enforcement to check the immigration status upon felony or dui arrests
5) Requires businesses to run all new workers thru a verification system
6) Gives stiffer penalties for those harboring illegals,
Hooo Rah
But anyway, does anyone have some good stats on the economic impacts of illegals?

Yes, it is my belief that because of the seriousness of this problem, there is no other problem as serious. Including the war. If your borders are not secure, what good does it do, to send your young people across the planet to fight off another form of invader ...one that has proven it can easily enter our country and kill thousands of people in single acts, crossing our borders with little or no impedence?
Then there is the internal damage to our infrastructure, all of us are aware of ad nausea.
OK has the right idea. I'm Calf. sadly. We need to relieve ourselves of D. Feinstein, B Boxer and the other Liberal Dems. that have sold our State out ... and elect a group of representatives that will take care of legal US citizens living in Calif. and do all possible to "encourage" those here illegally from using our tax sponsored sevices, competing with us for our jobs, breaking many other laws and bringing our State and country to it's knees.
Failure to do this will be the end of the USA. We are close to the end even now but there appears to be a ligth at the end of the tunnel.
We need a clear minded President for our nation on this issue. While I wonder about Romney, I see some hope in Thompson and in Huckabee ...no others see the light of this issue as these last two.
We have to vote the brainless, corrupted, bought out current folks out and get some "real" reps taking care of us.
Corporate interests and policies desinged to get votes are not good investments any longer.
If you write here, then write to your Sen. and Reps too. That is where your writing will mean something. This site is baby land in many ways but it does provide a forum for exchange and organization to get our leaders to do what is best for the USA and our respective States.

No stats here. In California the citizens overwhelmingly voted in a new law that did much of the same as your state's new law. The bill ordered that no illegal immigrant could use state sponsored services at taxpayers expense. That included medicaid, welfare, foodstamps, rent subsidies, WIC and other public assistance programs. The law was designed to ensure taxpayers would not bear the burden of illegal imigration. As soon as the law was approved by the voters, the ACLU and other communists took it to the liberal courts and got it overturned. I left california and never came back.
In my local county, the commissioners decided to stop providing any services in any other language than English. They decreed that no public sign or notice could be posted in a foreign language. Private businesses and citizens could still do it if they pleased. That law was overturned as well, because it placed ILLEGAL persons at a disadvantage.
I wondered about that. I have been to 9 other countries including Mexico. I did not find any public notices in English in any non-English speaking countries.
One other point. I noticed that all those countries INCLUDING MEXICO have armed federal officers posted at their borders, except us. Why is it that Mexico vehemently opposes us placing armed military at our border, but they have their military at the same border? Hmm...

Well, you are looking at only one side of the story. How about the contribution to the economy from all the cheap labor that illegal immigrants do? If we didn't have a source of cheap labor, companies would start outsourcing (not that they aren't already) and that would lead to higher trade deficit, etc. You need to think about all the impacts.

We hear all the time about the impact on our jails, hospitals, and schools but what about the 25 people a day that are killed by illegal aliens.
That is nation wide every day.
I know there is an economic side to that but I just see the families of these people devastated by illegal acts of illegal people.
If they don't respect our laws enough not to come here illegally why would they respect any of our other laws.

SLUMLORD HOUSING MARKET CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great question and answers. Not much to add, crime drop*, insurance drop, druggie drop, more arrest of visa jumpers, corn will drop, bubble baths, lettuce $100 ahead. Take care.
Hey David, funny how Bush ignores ACLU, we must stop the communist*, arise people! MORE PROSPERITY!
Thank you Heartless, don't forget that in addition to the 300,000 you mentioned in the federal pens*, they estimate another 300,000* in state jails, stats on the border are 1 in 7 caught are from a terror sponsoring countries*. I thought that Mexico didn't allow anyone into the country unless they had a job. You would think that N. Koreans, Iranians, Cubans (no guess not),....would stick out like a sore thumb.

We can't get the information we need to calculate it because the ACLU keeps making laws prohibiting us from asking, disclosing and so on. Information that affects us so powerfully should be covered under the Freedom of Information Act. And being prohibited from asking should become legally liable for failing to ask.
Why isn't it? Hmmm....
