What's the big difference between the Sheriff Dept, The Police Dept, The Constable and so forth? I mean why do we need that many different names for law enforcers and which ones out rank the other one?

I'll give you the reasons why we are not right now:

1. The Soviet Union had 2,500 missles capable of launching Nukes the U.S. any moment. Chinese ICBM's take hours to launch and they have probably 50 capable of reaching the U.S.. Basicaly we would destroy China before they launched any missles, or if they did lauch all of them could not destroy our country, though ours would wipe them out completely.

2. China's navy and military is not capable of offensive operations around the globe, they could dominate asia, but it would be impossible to launch an attack on the west. The U.S. miltary can strike anywhere in the world.

3. Our allies make U.S.-Sino war undesirable to them, not to mention our economies. It would be a lose lose situation for them.

4. I don't believe we could conquer or occupy china, there military is suited to A) a limited invasion of Taiwan(which they have been preparing for sometime) and B) a war of attrition defending the homeland.

My husband is currently on the USS Mccampbell ddg-85. He told me there was but I have been unable to locate the proper site. I just want to know where he is, makes for better emails and easier to know when to send packages when we cannot be in contact every day. Thanks

I am just wondering with all the news coverage that illeagals should automatically be deported, when caught breaking the law. I assumed that most Mexicans in our prison systems were illegal.

If there were some type of terrorist action (non-nuclear and contained) against America a month or two before the election, and in response to that, George Bush called a national state of emergency and halted the election... would you support him?

And for the inevitable posts devoted to telling me what a paranoid alarmist I am... don't bother. This is purely hypothetical.

Also, wouldn't a Republican victory show that the majority of Americans do NOT view the Bush administration with extreme disgust and hatred?

Please answer the question. Don't tell me that a Republican victory isn't going to happen. I simply asked 'what if' it happens?

How long is reception week at before basic training? I'm thinking of joining the National Guard now because of school. I heard from other people that reception week can last anywhere from the moment you arrive to several weeks because of the backup. I know what I would want to do and that is Infantry so which means I'll most likely end up in Fort Benning. I figured about doing BCT and AIT and then coming back in time for college around the first week of September. Is there any possible way to know? I'm guessing I would just get back to school whenever I finish AIT?

If almost all laws outside of speeding, parking violations, littering were punishable by death wouldn't that cut down on crime like A LOT???

If you're say an 18 yr old drunk driver who crashes and gets caught, then we f(_)cking kill you don't you think this would really help out on getting rid of the garbage ppl?

i just wanna know if you agree with me, and if you don't you must commit some sort of crimes, misdemeanors, felonies, etc.

I just saw one of my neighbors get arrested and I called the Sheriff's Dept. to see what was going on and she rudely told me that she couldn't tell me what was going on. I asked when it would be released and she didn't give a definite answer. I alway thought that information was public.

My name is _____ for those of your who do not know me. i am not here to promise you an easy year, to garuntee you victory, or superiority, but i can garauntee one thing, i can garuntee that thorne (team name), the spartans, will no longer be looked at as a bottom house. we will have superior organization, passion, and a thirst to win. we will become as a unit, as a block. vote for me and we will have such an impact on thorne that it will last for years to come. vote for me and we will be known as the year that thorne held no mercy. vote for me, and lets start the spartan revolution.

In most states other than Nebraska and Maine,it's a winner take-all system. California's debating over populism vs district electoral. I think there are flaws in either desired system.

Populism--Will lead to urbanization of the political structure ie all a candidate will do is go to big cities. A vast amount of the country will be neglected.

District--Districts aren't proportional to the population necessarily and that might distort a level populism most Americans desire as well.
-----------------
My alternative is to establish in each state a system in which population is divided by electoral..which usually equals around 650k per electoral. These electorals will be devised by 6 judges 3democrat/3 republican...and they must be approved by the state legislature every 2 years (or else you use the former).

This way parts of the south are open to democrats, and parts of the north and california are opene to republicans. It would still bring a broad concensus, and apply some populism

I seriously have doubts that there are any presidents in U.S. history that even comes close. Corruption, lies, just stand in line and follow one antother from bush.

A scandal is not the story, but rather the quanitity is the story. It is a positive trend with no end in sight. One corrupt issue after another.

Has to be some sort of record. Probably more than all our former leaders combined. (not that Bush is our legitimate leader)

Basically, I want to have two legal names. Ex: John Michael Stevenson and Steve Michael Johnston. I don't want to change my given name, I just want to add a name. I'm not planning on commiting fraud or anything, and I have no problem with registering both names with the government or whatever, I just want to have two different legal names, so that I can have a choice between the two. Say, if I become a doctor, I could be registered as Dr. Johnston, but still have a drivers liscence that says John Stevenson, etc.

Like having an alias, but completely legally, with no intention of hiding my identity.
