The answer is no. You have to have a permit to shoot off fireworks - even on your own property. Of course, everyone does it at Hallowe'en, but it's illegal. It's a crazy patchwork system really, because some municipalities sell fireworks without a permit and people from a neighboring municipality, which doesn't allow fireworks, scoot over to that municipality and buy up a bunch of fireworks, then let them off at home.
It's one of the reasons why the City of Vancouver supports the Symphony of Fire , and neighboring municipalities have fireworks displays on Canada Day - so people can still watch fireworks but won't (in theory) set off any of their own.
If you're in doubt, phone City Hall (or wherever you pay your taxes) and ask what the municipal bylaw is.

October 24th, 2007 - First day when fireworks may be sold, given, fired, or set off if a LOCAL government has, BY BYLAW, declared that the Fireworks Act applies. Does it apply where you are in BC?

If there is an ordinance against fire works then you can not even light them on your own property. A law is a law no matter if it is your property or public property.

You need to check out the laws of
* Canada
* British Columbia
* Local community in which you live

There are laws that prohibit certain kinds of fireworks, and allow other kinds. You need to find which are allowed by all levels of government relative to where you reside. This includes buying, transporting, storing, using. You may need to have some kind of a special license.

Im not aware of Canada fireworks laws. I will say. I live in Ohio, and as long as they are put off by dusk, noone really complains even tho its very illegal in Ohio. I wouldn't be setting them off at 10. Then again, you don't have neighbors but close enough that may report it if you seem to disrupting their sleep. Do it at dusk but not too late. Not too many will think anything of it. They may be enjoying it themselves.

If you live in a state or country, that out laws them - then that means since you live there (no matter how much land you own) the fire works are still illegal.

This would be according to your state's & cities ordinances, for instance i live in the US & in our state, in my city we have to be OUT of the City limits ..

You can just call your local law, & ask , you probably can if you're not up against some houses & you are out far enough to not bother anyone w/the noise;. but make sure you dont live in a drought zone, as part of we do ..

Good luck, & have fun !

You still have to check your local laws. Sorry. Burning trash, adding a room, hell, taking a dump are all part of the government jurisdiction. If you don't want the feds busting your fun, get a permit.

Using that very same reasoning you could grow marijuana, coca or whatever you want, plus organize dog-fighting, prostitution, murder and so on.

So the answer is not you cannot do that, if there is a law against it in your jurisdiction.

The laws cover every square inch of the country, private land or not.
