My Dad is going to be 55. He served his country, from the age of 17, for 39 years. He is a disabled veteran.

He is very humble and would hate any praise....but he retains his medals, his "shadow box" and his photo albums. Should I oraganize a reuninon for him? I love and respect him.

I guess I should direct this at other vets.

My husband was pulled over recently and was told by the officer that he had something he needed to take care of on his record. So he contacted the court to inquire about it and was told he had a warrant for and unpaid ticket. He went in to pay the ticket and was arrested for another warrant for a Theft by Check charge in the ajoining county. (I dont know why they didnt tell him about both when he called, we would have taken care of both at the same time.) Some years back my husband had some health problems and lost his job, subsequently we bounced several checks and even lost our bank account because we were broke. We thought we had paid all of the bounced checks but apparently not. We have not written any checks since then (about 3 years) because of all the trouble it caused, we use debit or cash only. And we are just now getting back on our feet financialy. He spent 12 hours in Harris county lock-up for something we didnt even know about. Now I am paranoid that there may be more.

may be that is really our intension and if so we are doing a great job of that! we make a war like that and then leave Iraq and keep selling weapons to both sides and keep a malnitrition war till they are all weak and we will then make money repairing their infrastructure. we did that when we gave a green light to saddam to attack iran. we sold weapon to both sides till they both weakened and we assured hezbollah with a complete control of the country. remember that war? no way we stay and support Iraq since then we have to ally with Iran!

One took place at a convenience store, the clerk fought back and shot one of the guys, he ended up dying behind a funeral home a few blocks away. The other took place in front of a huge appliance store. The robbers tried to hold up the store's security guard. One of the robbers attacked the guard and his gun went off, shooting his friend in the eye. He's in critical condition. The security guard was not injured. Are these not the best stories ever?

Congressman Kucinich is addressing many issues in a very thought provoking and informative way. He is the only democrat who voted against The U.S. gong into Iraq. Other candidates are very superficial in their responses to questions. Why is he so low in the polls, and why isn't the media taking him more seriously?

I'm torn between this issue because as a Christian, I don't think my views should be imposed on anyone, since god gave us a choice to believe or not to believe.

However, I don't see why anyone would want to restrict it because the first amendment of the Constitutions says, " Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF;

So, basically, I don't believe god wants us to make people pray with us in school, but I don't believe we should tell people they can't.

So a presidential contender beleives persons in this country have rights that he will ensure are kept. Thus he beleives there is no differenc between those who violate our laws and those that don't. He will side with the radical elements of La Raza that view the states of our southwest to be illegally obtained from Mexico.

In New Orleans we are the murder capitol of the united states, yet all i see is cops setting speed traps. You would think that they would have better things to do lol. I was thinking about getting one of those laser detectors because they are not banned here in Louisiana and the company said that if I get caught they would pay my fine for me. I was just wondering how effective they are because they are kind of pricey.

local small cleaning business 20 yrs- carry required liability / work comp.
filed first claim- broken item in a clients home- NOT COVERED !! work or work product. Excuss me. It has to be some totally off the wall, unrelated to my work in the home - to be covered... in otherwords an unlikely situation.
Serveral years ago - similar situation- I had a doctor stated work related cronic injury.... basically NOT COVERED- my initial Dr. visit was paid period. I no longer work at the same position , my injury does not permit me. State requires this coverage.... as business owner you fiqure -anything big ever happens.. you are insured. a deductable to cover. My clients are assuming the same. My employees, they are under the assumption that thier employer carries work comp and they would be covered.. I found out even as the owner (also worker ) YOU ARE NOT COVERED Who is fraudulant? The state who requires do nothing insurance? The Insurance Co. who sells do nothing insurance.

There are talks about exiting Iraq and consequences of exiting. Among those consequences is ethnic cleansing and total Iraqi government break down. If the US retreats could another country enter Iraq and use the ethnic cleansing and violence as an excuse for them to enter the now extremely vulnerable Iraq and severly cripple them with the type of bombing and force that usually opens most wars?

Will this allow them to set up their own backed government and laws the way the US is currently trying to do in Iraq and secure their rights to the oil reserves?
