One took place at a convenience store, the clerk fought back and shot one of the guys, he ended up dying behind a funeral home a few blocks away. The other took place in front of a huge appliance store. The robbers tried to hold up the store's security guard. One of the robbers attacked the guard and his gun went off, shooting his friend in the eye. He's in critical condition. The security guard was not injured. Are these not the best stories ever?

I am all for justice and I pray for the officer who is clinging to life as well as the family of the officer who died in the line of duty. i am a victim of a robbery and so I am very pleased to see that this happened. We need to defend ourselves. I say good for them!!

I stand by what I feel. My sis was pistol whipped while driving her kids home from church thru the same neighborhood. The robbers stole 40 dollars, her last! My home was burglarized and they took EVERYTHING of sentimental value. My hubby was carjacked at gun point!! I have no sympathy for these types of crimes as well as the crimes committed against the officers. One guy died committing a crime...am I sad? NOPE!! You have every right to look at it the way that you do just like I have every RIGHT to feel this way. I am sick and tired of these little idiots killing people and taking what we've worked our whole lives to earn!!

Well
1) The robberies did NOT succeed. They were attempted robberies
2) The first one you mentioned- the assailant did not die, he is critical condition at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood
3) They are NOT the best stories ever. One had a clerk protecting himself- which is good and the other the accomplice shot the other in the eye. There is nothing to glorify when someone gets shot, regardless of whoever it is.

Why isn't it the BEST story ever about the cop who was shot, Muary Hernandez, but is still clinging to life at Hollywood Regional Hospital and the fact that the community is rallying around him? Why isn't it the BEST story ever that the SOB who did it is IN JAIL? Why isn't it that the BEST story ever is not the one where we are reminded that the police put their lives on the line every day for us.
Why isn't it the BEST story ever for the community that is fed up with violence and is rallying to kick the offenders out.

Edited to add:
I have also been a victim but regardless of what the crime is, it is not something that should be glorified no matter what. No one says people should not be able to defend themselves but we also have to remember, if defending yourself is not tempered with sanity and caution, "defending" yourself can turn from that to vigilanteism and can result in innocents being hurt or killed. Once you put that on a pedestal, there will be those that will take it to the extreme. So while we can say, " Damn straight" good for the clerk who defended himself and "oops" to the bad guy shot by his accomplice, put it in its proper perspective

Thats how it should be. Now if you guys took the two robbers that are still alive, and hung them from the nearest tree or light pole, that would be justice!!
