The bad news is that in most cases you have only one year from the date of the accident to file suit, so you might have missed your chance. If you have already filed a claim with their insurance company you might be ok. But it's not unusual for it to take this long or longer. Talk to your lawyer again and if you're not satisfied, call around to personal injury attorneys. there are lots in the phone book. Good luck.

Yes, get an attorney. It will cost you nothing to consult with a personal injury attorney -- they will take your case on a contingency fee basis. You can look online (Google it) and start the process in that way. Your lawyer doesn't necessarily have to be in OC to represent you. The statute of limitations is (I think) 2 years, not one. And, you should finish treating your injuries (heal up as best you can) before you begin to assess the full amount of your damages. Take as long as you need to heal -- your health is of utmost importance. If you are nearing the statutory period (end of the two years), your attorney can help you figure out how to preserve your rights. Good luck!

Well, in most towns you can't spit without hitting a personal injury attorney. Why didn't you call someone right away? These guys don't even charge unless they get money for you. I don't know what the statute of limitations is on something like this but you should call a PI lawyer right away.

Get a better lawyer. Not much more can be said. A good lawyer will anser all of those questions for you so you don't have to ask them here.

Without the specifics, it is not possible to evaluate your case. If your doctor is not doing anything, try going to a chiropractor.
Figure out what are your medical expenses, lost wages, extra travel expenses and any other out of pocket expenses and keep track of them.
