Our system seems so mixed up, backwards even, with so much sympathy for rapists they get let out, but someone defending herself might go to jail for years?
Taxpayers are charged a lot for some of the nonsense in our courts and corrections systems today. What did we pay for John Cooey's psychiatric evaluations?

I seem to recall that somewhere in public school, I (and my children) were taught that the legal system's job is to punish people in order to correct their behavior. In my first semester in college, I learned otherwise. Punishment doesn't work on animals, or children, so why does it work so well on adults? It doesn't. Misdemeanors are just an "eenie-meanie-minie-mow" tax. I pay today, you pay tomorrow, someone else pays the next day. It is in actuality, a revenue enhancement tactic. Unfortunately, it doesn't even pay its own expenses.

Felonies,on the other hand, are serious behavioral deviances that need to be addressed on the most primitive level. People like John Cooey are so narcissistic that, on an emotional level, they resemble infants, and infants demand that their needs be met no matter who suffers. People like John Cooey never progressed emotionally beyond this infancy, probably due to never having had their emotional needs met while they were very young. They "stopped growing up." People like Cooey cannot benefit from being punished because their needs erupt from the most primitive levels of the human survival drive. They take what they need, want, desire, and they bring endless harm to those around them. They belong in a place where they can be maintained away from civilized communities, and where they cannot ever, ever leave...

Great question! We give dog killers 6 to 10 years and rapists get about 3, and people who commit manslaughter get 5 to 10. Doesn't make any sense to me. But it seems that cops care about drugs, dwis, and traffic violations while the real criminals do what they want. The animal one is the best lol PETA and the animal rights groups has everyone thinking that killing animals is the worst crime in the world while it seems they could care a less about people killing other people. PETA seriously needs to grow up!
